The Role
We are seeking an innovative and strategic Director of Content Strategy & Projects to lead the development, planning, and execution of our long-term content initiatives. This senior leadership role will oversee the overarching editorial direction, coordinate cross-platform campaigns, and manage key projects that elevate the House & Garden brand. You will work closely with senior stakeholders, editorial teams, and external partners to ensure our content strategy aligns with business objectives and industry trends.
What will you be doing?
- Develop and implement a comprehensive, innovative content strategy that drives audience growth, engagement, and brand positioning across print, digital, social media, and live events.
- Lead the planning and delivery of high-impact content projects, including special issues, awards, collaborations, and digital campaigns.
- Collaborate with editorial, commercial, marketing, and events teams to synchronise content initiatives with business goals and market opportunities.
- Oversee the development of content calendars, project timelines, and resource allocation to ensure the timely delivery of editorial projects.
- Identify emerging trends, platforms, and formats to keep House & Garden at the forefront of the luxury lifestyle media landscape.
- Build and nurture relationships with external agencies, creative partners, and industry stakeholders to develop innovative content collaborations.
- Lead the editorial innovation process, exploring new storytelling formats, audience engagement tools, and digital enhancements.
- Monitor content performance metrics, analyse audience insights, and adjust strategies accordingly to optimise reach and impact.
- Manage budgets, negotiate contracts, and oversee resources for multiple projects and initiatives.
- Act as a key advisor to senior leadership on strategic content opportunities and industry developments.
- Promote a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the content team.
- Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering professional growth and knowledge sharing.
About You:
- An experienced content strategist with a strong background in luxury, lifestyle, or interiors media, ideally within a premium magazine, digital publisher, or creative agency.
- Proven success in managing large-scale projects from conception to execution, with excellent organisational and leadership skills.
- Deep understanding of the luxury market, industry trends, and audience preferences.
- Innovative thinker with a passion for storytelling and digital innovation.
- Data-driven, with the ability to interpret analytics and translate insights into actionable strategies.
- Exceptional communicator and collaborator, comfortable working across departments and with external partners.
- Skilled at managing budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.
- A proactive problem-solver with a strategic mindset and a passion for excellence.
