Engineering Manager

Condé Nast is seeking a seasoned hands-on Software Development Leader to lead backend service development for managing millions of e-commerce product data updates daily. This role involves defining contracts, architectural, and design frameworks for scalability, working across cross-functional teams. The manager will lead, mentor, and hire software developers, define roadmaps with stakeholders, and ensure consistent, reliable backend service delivery, driving resilient software development processes.

Must Have

• Lead and Influence the team of software developers to deliver quality Products.
• Guide and Mentor team for career progression and Continuous skill Building.
• Hire and Develop ‘A’ Team for Software Product Development.
• Work with Stakeholders and Product Teams to deliver and define a roadmap.
• Deliver a consistent and reliable Backend service.
• Define and Drive Implementable, resilient Software Delivery and Development Process.
• BE / BTech or equivalent experience.
• 12+ years of experience developing Microservices, Nodejs/Java/Golang/Python.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases at scale of millions of records.
• Exposure to Spark, in either of the Stack PySpark, Scala, Java.
• Familiarity and experience with Rest APIs.
• Experience with Online Commerce, managing data at Scale.
• Experience in building scalable services/systems.
• Experience in caching and searching solutions.
• Experience in Code profiling, Performance Tuning.
• Experience Managing Full Stack teams, with Reactjs for Front-end.
• Experience working with, designing, and deploying production-grade Services, in Public Cloud like AWS/Azure and optimising the cost.

About you - Essential skills:

● You have a BE / BTech or equivalent experience

● 12 + years of experience developing Microservices, Nodejs/Java/Golang/Python.

● Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases at scale of millions of records.

● Exposure to Spark, in either of the Stack PySpark, Scala, Java.

● Familiarity and experience with Rest APIs

● Experience with Online Commerce, managing data at Scale

● Experience in building scalable services/systems,

● Experience in caching and searching solutions

● Experience in Code profiling, Performance Tuning

● Experience Managing Full Stack teams, with Reactjs for Front-end

● Eager to learn about new technologies and implement these ideas in a production environment.

● Business proficiency in spoken and written English

● You will be working with a global team and need to be accommodative of different time-zones as required.

● Experience working with, designing, and deploying production-grade Services, in Public Cloud like AWS/Azure and optimising the cost.
