Job Description

The Director Principal Architect will provide subject matter expertise and architectural guidance for Customer Portfolio and Instrument Creation and Dissemination value chains. Responsibilities include planning and implementing architectural solutions, facilitating framework and proof of concept design, coordinating technology standards, conducting impact analyses, and managing portfolio compliance. This role also involves technical knowledge sharing, process enhancement for software delivery, and research into emerging technologies to support system architecture. The architect will create logical and physical models, define non-functional requirements, and analyze system processes.

Job Details

The Director Principal Architect in Customer Portfolio and Instrument Creation and Dissemination value chains will be responsible for providing subject matter expertise, guidance for the architectural direction, and execution over multiple systems and provides technical support to development teams. This individual plans, documents, implements architectural solutions; facilitates framework & proof of concept design. This includes coordinating the development of department-wide technology standards, determining how technology systems interact to affect business outcomes, conducting impact analyses, managing portfolio completion and compliance, provides technical knowledge sharing and training, enhances processes aimed at efficient and effective software delivery, and coordinating research on emerging technologies that support system architecture. This individual also creates logical and physical models for how systems work together, defines non-functional requirements, and analyzes system processes. Role has few technical or professional peers internally.

Principle Accountabilities:

  • Coordinates proof of concept planning and execution for new technologies; Participates in research and development; Organizes and presents proof of concept results
  • Coordinates definition of department level standards; Participates in defining enterprise level standards; promotes adherence to standards within department
  • Coordinates creation and organization of department level knowledge base;
  • Contributes to department level knowledge base for systems and capabilities;
  • Contributes to recommendations for optimizing system portfolio
  • Coordinates cross-functional teams within department and business stakeholders to solve technical problems and design solutions to meet business and technology needs
  • Contributes to definition of department level roadmaps with respect to specific programs or goals; Models current and future applications and systems and documenting the architecture.
  • Defines and documents architecture and design for data, components, interfaces and data flows for specific system group or major program
