Job Summary

Applied Materials is seeking a Global Talent Acquisition Strategy Director to lead the transformation of its global TA function. This role involves creating and operationalizing agile talent acquisition strategies for university, professional, and executive hiring. The director will partner with HR Technology, drive critical projects, define performance metrics, manage vendor relationships, and ensure global compliance. The position requires a highly organized, collaborative, and innovative individual to serve as a strategic advisor and operational partner to HR and HRBP teams, ultimately developing a data-driven recruiting engine.

Must Have

  • Global accountability to create and operationalize global talent acquisition strategies, programs and processes.
  • Partner with the HR Technology team to ensure efficient foundational tools and processes.
  • Drive critical projects and initiatives with stakeholder buy-in and global compliance.
  • Lead the enablement of the TA function, hiring managers and relevant HR groups.
  • Be hand-on and data-driven, to experiment, measure, and develop a recruiting engine.
  • Define and implement key performance metrics and dashboards.
  • Establish a robust global framework for risk management and compliance.
  • Manage key vendor relationships in collaboration with Global Procurement.
  • Collaborate effectively with Legal, Compliance, Finance, Corporate Comms.
  • Develop clear, actionable presentations and dashboards for executive decisions.
  • Manage the global talent acquisition budget.
  • Bachelor's degree in Talent Acquisition, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of HR experience, with a strong focus on talent acquisition or talent operations.
  • Exposure to HRIS technology.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience, including managing virtual and matrixed teams.
  • Strong data analytics skills.
  • Budget and vendor management experience.
  • Experience leading regional and global projects in a fast-paced, transformational environment.
  • Executive-level stakeholder management.

What You’ll Do

Join us as our Global Talent Acquisition Strategy Director where you'll play a pivotal role in creating the strategy and transforming our global talent acquisition function to be super agile for ramp cycles of university, professional and executive hiring. This global role combines strategic leadership with operational excellence, demanding a highly organized, collaborative, and innovative individual. You will not only shape the future of our talent acquisition strategy but also serve as a critical advisor and operational partner to HR Technology, HR COEs and HRBP teams

Role Responsibilities:

Strategic and Operational Leadership:

  • Global accountability to create and operationalize global talent acquisition strategies, programs and processes to support an agile talent acquisition team.
  • Partner with the HR Technology team to ensure that the foundational tools and processes work efficiently to support hiring needs globally.
  • Drive critical projects and initiatives with stakeholder buy-in, global compliance while ensuring timely and successful completion.
  • Lead the enablement of the TA function, hiring managers and relevant HR groups to support the TA acquisition engine.
  • Be hand--on and data-driven, to experiment, measure, and develop a recruiting engine that becomes a key competitive advantage for Applied.
  • Define and implement key performance metrics and dashboards to share with the business and HR partners and help manage the TA function.
  • Establish a robust global framework for risk management, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Manage key vendor relationships in collaboration with the Global Procurement organization.
  • Collaborate effectively with other functional teams (Legal, Compliance, Finance, Corporate Comms, etc.) to achieve business objectives. Build trust and foster a culture of collaboration, leading the team through complex HR and talent acquisition initiatives.
  • Develop clear, actionable presentations and dashboards that translate data into insights driving executive-level decisions and business outcomes.
  • Manage the global talent acquisition budget, identifying opportunities for cost optimization and strategic investment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Talent Acquisition, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of HR experience, with a strong focus on talent acquisition or talent operations, and exposure to HRIS technology.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience, including managing virtual and matrixed teams.

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
