Job Description

As an E&I Engineer, you will be part of the maintenance department in Ham and report to the Maintenance Manager. In this role, you will work closely with the Production, Engineering, and Process departments.

Within the maintenance department, you will be responsible for developing and managing the maintenance program for electricity and instrumentation (E&I) to maximize equipment efficiency and performance while ensuring the plant complies with the business plan, budget, and safety standards.

You will act as an “authorized person” for the operation of the medium and high voltage electrical distribution installations at the Ham (BE) and Geleen (NL) sites.

Additionally, you will also serve as a site E&I engineer, working closely with your E&I colleagues from the Engineering department. Together with engineering, you will support investment projects with your technical expertise and contribute to the development of site standards and strategies related to E&I within projects. For selected projects, you will be part of the project team and responsible for defining and executing the E&I scope.

Your responsibilities will include:

• E&I support and expertise
• Expert role in E&I systems, including medium and high voltage equipment, for the BU
• Supports exceptional maintenance, shutdowns, and maintenance projects
• Supports the supervisor and technicians with technical expertise in electricity (including medium and high voltage) and instrumentation.
• Supports technical training and acts as an internal trainer to ensure the continuity and quality of the maintenance process
• Advises and supports purchase requests for equipment, tools, and external services, evaluates offers, and follows up on the purchasing process to ensure the continuity and cost-effectiveness of maintenance and engineering processes
• In close collaboration with engineering:
• Advises lead designers on E&I-related issues
• Explores the market for new equipment and E&I contractors together with procurement
• Supports investment projects with a specific E&I scope
• Standards management
• Maintains E&I standards and manages technical specifications. Improves existing or develops new standards or specifications in collaboration with engineering.
• Authorized person for the operation of the electrical installation of the Ham (BE) and Geleen (NL) sites.
• Safety and environmental regulations
• Monitors compliance with relevant safety and environmental regulations.
• Knowledge and application of standards and regulations

Job Requirements

• Master in Engineering, specialized in electrical engineering and/or instrumentation
• Typically 5-8 years of experience
• In-depth and broad knowledge and experience in electrical engineering and/or instrumentation
• Thorough knowledge of medium and high voltage systems
• Basic knowledge of process control systems (Siemens PCS7) is a plus
• Knowledge of legislation (AREI/NEN1010/NEN3140) is required or willing to learn
• Skills to lead and coordinate a technical team
• Proficient in English and Dutch
• Software tools: MS-Office, MS-Projects, SAP, E-plan
