Springer Nature is seeking an Education Sales Consultant to drive sales growth for Macmillan Education across Southeast Asia, including Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Laos, the Philippines, and Brunei. The role involves a hybrid approach of distributor management and direct engagement with educational key accounts, focusing on building long-term relationships and promoting educational products to private language schools, universities, and institutions. The consultant will develop and implement sales plans, identify new market opportunities, manage distributor partners, present solutions to decision-makers, organize training and promotional events, and collaborate with regional teams. Maintaining accurate CRM records, providing sales reports, and monitoring competitive activity are also key responsibilities. The position requires strong sales, account management, and negotiation skills, along with an understanding of purchasing dynamics in SEA and the ability to work across diverse cultures.

Purpose of the role:

To drive sales growth for Macmillan Education across Rest of Southeast Asia (RoSEA) —including Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Laos, the Philippines, and Brunei —through a hybrid approach of distributor management and direct engagement with educational key accounts.

This role is responsible for developing long-term relationships and promoting Macmillan Education products to private language schools (PLS), universities, institutions, and relevant education bodies. It also supports engagement with MOE and government departments for new opportunities across the region as directed by the manager.

Key Tasks:

Align with company strategy, develop and implement country-specific sales plans to achieve revenue and growth targets, including forecast, planning and delivery for sales, for print and digital products, as well as other projects. Identify and capitalize on new market opportunities, including licensing.

Manage and support distributor partners with commercial planning, product training, and marketing plan execution.

Identify and build direct relationships with educational key accounts (e.g. schools, institutions, PLS, universities, government bodies).

Present and promote Macmillan Education’s ELT and academic solutions to decision makers and educational leaders in the region

Align with regional marketing and customers, organize or support training workshops, promotional events, and academic presentations across RoSEA.

Collaborate with regional publishing, marketing, and operations teams to align promotion, supply and projects.

Maintain accurate records of customer engagement, account status, and activities in CRM , with regular summary reports to track sales development Provide timely reporting on sales forecasts, activities, and pipeline development.

Monitor competitive activity, collect market intelligence to inform sales strategy and stakeholders

Act as a local contact in RoSEA markets for potential national or institutional curriculum reform or MOE-led programs, in coordination with regional stakeholders.

Any other tasks appointed by line manager.

Key relationships:

Internal

  • Head of Southeast Asia, Education Vietnam and Asia regional sales teams (collaboration and knowledge sharing)
  • Regional marketing, operations, finance, publishing teams

External

  • Distributors and agents in RoSEA markets
  • Institutional stakeholders: PLS, universities, and schools
  • Ministry officials and project partners (initial contact and relationship-building stage)
  • Academic consultants and education organizations
  • Ed tech companies or potential licensees

Skills/Knowledge

  • Strong skills in sales, key account management, and partnership development
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities in English
  • Understanding of institutional and government purchasing dynamics in SEA
  • Familiarity with CRM tools and digital sales technologies
  • Ability to work independently across multiple countries and cultures

This position is based in our Ho Chi Minh office in Vietnam. Candidates must have the right to work in Vietnam and be able to commute to the office.
