This role focuses on selling recruitment and employer branding solutions, including online and print advertising across Springer Nature's platforms, to clients in Europe. The ideal candidate will manage client relationships, develop new business, and achieve sales targets. Responsibilities include building strong client relationships, managing accounts, developing new business, maintaining a sales pipeline, conducting outreach, preparing proposals, managing CRM records, monitoring market trends, collaborating with internal teams, and staying updated on advertising products. Purpose of the role

Recruitment and employer branding solutions sales to clients based in Europe. Selling online and print advertising solutions across all Springer Nature journals, websites and products. Strategic top-level sales and account management. Business development sales across a dedicated territory.

Role Responsibilities

•    Build strong client relationships by consulting on their needs and delivering tailored advertising and branding solutions.
•    Manage a portfolio of accounts while proactively developing new business across Europe.
•    Maintain a healthy sales pipeline to consistently meet or exceed revenue targets.
•    Conduct proactive outreach, including cold calling and scheduled client meetings (both virtual and in-person).
•    Represent the company at relevant events such as careers fairs, conferences, and trade shows to generate leads and raise brand visibility.
•    Prepare strategic, client-focused proposals using insights from the full Talent Solutions portfolio.
•    Maintain accurate CRM records, manage the active sales pipeline, and provide regular sales forecasts and performance reports.
•    Monitor market trends and competitor activity, providing actionable insights to support strategic planning.
•    Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful campaign delivery and client satisfaction.
•    Stay up-to-date on Springer Nature’s advertising products and content marketing solutions, acting as a knowledgeable advisor to clients.
•    Contribute to the development and execution of sales strategies and special feature campaigns.
•    Carry out additional duties as required to support team and business objectives.

Experience, Skills & Qualifications:
Essential

•    Established advertising sales experience with a successful track record of selling digital and content led campaigns, preferably within B2B environment 
•    Proven track record of key account management and business development
•    Proven track record of strategic solutions sales
•    Experience of the STM market/sector beneficial
•    Digital advertising experience essential
•    Experience of the pharmaceutical market/sector advantageous
•    Experience using CRM and Ad Booking systems 


Desirable
•    Previous sales experience, preferably within B2B environment
•    Language skills preferred (Eg. German, French, Spanish, Italian)
•    Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.

Key relationships:
•    Advertising clients in Europe, including any companies and institutions that recruit scientists, in academia, government and industry
•    Internal departments within Springer Nature including advertising, sponsorship, institutional partnerships, marketing, operations, technology, editorial, production and senior management
