  • Ability to work effectively with internal and external codebases.
  • Commitment to writing clean, maintainable, portable, and optimized code.
  • Proven track record contributing to one or more shipped AAA games.

Elsewhere Entertainment is looking for a talented Senior+ Engine Programmer to drive the creation of innovative systems and technologies for our next-generation AAA experiences on our new IP.

We’re hiring at multiple levels of seniority - whether you’re a seasoned Senior Engineer or an experienced Principal looking to shape foundational engine systems, we want to hear from you.

In this role, you will implement complex technical systems and help drive the technical direction of our projects, ensuring that our games deliver exceptional experiences to players around the world. Together we foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and collaboration by actively sharing technical expertise with the team, including non-technical colleagues, and help deliver cutting-edge tools and solutions that push the boundaries of what is possible in gaming.

You’ll help us by…

  • Implementing, maintaining and optimizing engine systems with a focus on performance and scalability. More senior candidates are expected to take end-to-end ownership of complex systems, from prototype to final result.
  • Improving our technology stack for next-gen development and future platforms.
  • Working with stakeholders to translate creative ideas into software.
  • Collaborate with peers, fostering a culture of learning and technical excellence.
  • Communicating technical considerations and trade-offs and how those align with project goals, inspiring and guiding your peers and stakeholders.
  • Anticipating challenges and risks and implementing innovative and preventative solutions.

You’re awesome because you have…

  • 4+ years as a professional programmer or a combination of education and relevant experience. Led the design and implementation of large-scale systems with significant complexity and cross-disciplinary impact.
  • With increasing seniority, increasingly deep expertise with:
  • C/C++, 3D math, common data structures, and algorithms.
  • Profiling and optimization.
  • Code robustness and testability
  • One or more areas such as game/tools UI/UX, VFX, online systems, physics, rendering, vehicles, or open-world streaming.
  • Experience with modular architecture, event-driven systems, design patterns, and object-oriented programming principles.
  • Ability to work effectively with both internally and externally developed codebases.
  • A strong commitment to writing clean, maintainable, portable, and optimized code.
  • A proven track record of contributing to one or more shipped AAA games.
