Engineer - Generator Auxiliaries Design (Mech)

This role involves performing basic design and calculations for Generator auxiliary systems, preparing P&IDs and specifications, and checking/releasing manufacturing drawings. Responsibilities include understanding project specifications, designing systems like braking, lifting, and cooling, preparing technical specifications, managing work packages with the Product Definition team, collaborating with suppliers for design improvements, and supporting the supply chain during execution. The successful candidate will ensure quality, budget adherence, and timely delivery.

Must Have

• Perform Basic Design & calculations for Generator auxiliary systems.
• Prepare P&IDs and specifications for Generator auxiliaries.
• Check & release manufacturing & arrangement drawings.
• Understand project, product, customer requirement, Generator operating parameters and operating sequences of Hydro power plant.
• Perform Basic Design and calculations for Generator auxiliary systems such as Braking, Lifting, Thrust bearing oil injection, Oil mist exhaust, Brake dust exhaust, Carbon dust exhaust, Fire fighting system, Air-water Coolers, Oil-water coolers for bearings, their piping’s layout.
• Prepare technical specifications and drawings specifying design requirements.
• Manage and execute work-packages with Product definition team.
• Work with suppliers for defining, improving or cost out during design phase.
• Support to Supply chain during execution phase.
• B. E. (Mechanical) educational requirement.
• At least 3 years in design of Hydro Generator auxiliary systems.
• Total experience desired > 5 years.
• Experienced in understanding engineering requirements of Hydro Generator.
• Applied knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical engineering, Piping standards, Heat exchangers.
• Experienced in preparing design specifications for components.
• Experienced in Design & Engineering Processes.
• Good level in MS Office Application.
• User Level SAP System, PLM (CORELLA).
• Experienced in CAD tools preferably AUTOCAD and UG NX.
• Communication, Inter-personal relationship, Pro-active & responsiveness.

Knowledge / Experience

• At least 3 years in design of Hydro Generator auxiliary systems. Total experience desired > 5 years

• Experienced in understanding engineering requirements of Hydro Generator

• Applied knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical engg, Piping standards, Heat exchangers

• Experienced in preparing design specifications for components mentioned in ‘responsibilities’

• Experienced in Design & Engineering Processes

• Good level in ‘MS Office” Application

• User Level SAP System, PLM (CORELLA)

• Experienced in CAD tools preferably AUTOCAD and UG NX
