Sourcing Specialist - Commodity Management

The Sourcing Specialist for Commodity Management negotiates with dedicated providers to achieve optimal contractual conditions and ensure internal customer satisfaction. This role involves defining supplier strategy, managing supplier panels, leading negotiations, allocating needs to suppliers, and managing claims. It requires in-depth knowledge of the discipline, analytical thinking, and the ability to prioritize information for data analysis. The specialist acts as a resource for less experienced colleagues and may lead small, low-risk projects.

Must Have

• B.Tech Electrical/ Mechanical engineer
• 5+ years of experience in sourcing, preferably from transformer industry
• Define supplier strategy and manage supplier panels
• Lead negotiations and allocate needs to specific suppliers
• Negotiate terms and conditions
• Manage claims
• Utilize in-depth knowledge of discipline and analytical thinking
• Ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters

Roles and Responsibilities

• Define supplier strategy including management and optimization of supplier panels. Lead negotiations and allocate needs to specific suppliers. Negotiate terms and conditions and transmit information to Procurement. Manage claims. Includes commercial sourcing management such as data analysis, negotiations support, etc. This may also include purchasing activities.
• Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a discipline and analytical thinking to execute policy/strategy. Basic knowledge of related job disciplines.
• Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.
• Jobs at this level function with some autonomy but are subject to functional practices and precedents or are covered by well-defined policies or review of end results. The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).

Required Qualifications

• For this role, looking for B.Tech Electrical/ Mechanical engineer having sourcing background preferably from transformer industry having 5+ years of experience
