Job Summary
The Lead Finance Specialist will ensure timely and compliant statutory and tax regulatory filings for APAC region entities, supporting HQ Governance teams for alignment and efficiency. The role involves preparing and reviewing financial statements, coordinating with various stakeholders, managing statutory audit processes, providing expert advisory services on local GAAP/IFRS to US GAAP differences, and analyzing financial results for key management. This position also focuses on process improvement and maintaining compliance systems.
Must Have
- Prepare and review documentation of G2S adjustments and financial statements of APAC region entities in alignment with local statutory requirements.
- Coordinate with various stakeholders to mitigate Stat and tax filing issues.
- Utilize in-depth knowledge of a discipline and analytical thinking to execute policy/strategy.
- Lead small team or projects with low risks and resource requirements.
- Engage in STAT and Tax Wing to Wing process to improve work productivity and eliminate waste time.
- Provide ongoing compliance service, including but not limited to assist in preparation /review of statutory accounts, statutory audit process management, advice on consolidation, accounting issue resolution, and tax filling.
- Provide ongoing expert advisory service, including but not limited to Statutory and other audit advisory and local GAAP/IFRS to US GAAP differences and reconciliations advisory.
- Preparation of Board Directors pack, balance sheet and solvency reviews and to be able to explain and analyze results to the directors or key management.
- Partner with Base Cost FP&A team to ensure accuracy of Statutory Audit fees recorded in Gas Power ledgers.
- Monitor completion and provide support in evolving of Stat to GAAP quality checklist achieving constant improvement in quality and First pass yield measurement.
- Provide wing to wing support in maintaining & keeping up-to-date e-Compliance and S-HFM systems.
- Partnering with other functional leads to exchange best practice on process improvement opportunities, controls framework improvements and common issues that need resolving.
- BS in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration, or equivalent international degree.
- Minimum 4 years of relevant finance & statutory work experience.
- Experience in a global role working across different regions, ideally in one of GE’s industrial businesses.
- Demonstrated project management and process improvement experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills (English).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint and Word) and the GEV systems (TLS, S-HFM, Smartsheet, Power BI etc).
- Ability to identify processes and activities to improve.
- Experience and ability to apply LEAN preferred.

Responsible for supporting HQ Governance teams to ensure full alignment between Statutory and Tax functions, also helping in various improvement projects increasing quality & overall process efficiency. This role will report to APAC Statutory/Tax Leader.

Roles and Responsibilities

- Coordinate with various stakeholders (Operational Controllership, Service Ops Finance, FP&A and external parties) to mitigate Stat and tax filing issues.
- Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a discipline and analytical thinking to execute policy/strategy. Basic knowledge of related job disciplines.
- Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Task to lead small team or projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.
- Engage in STAT and Tax Wing to Wing process to improve work productivity and eliminate waste time.
- Provide ongoing compliance service, including but not limited to assist in preparation /review of statutory accounts, statutory audit process management, advice on consolidation, accounting issue resolution, and tax filling.
- Provide ongoing expert advisory service, including but not limited to Statutory and other audit advisory and local GAAP/IFRS to US GAAP differences and reconciliations advisory.

- Some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework. Resolves issues in situations that require good knowledge and judgment within established procedures. Consults more senior team members for issues outside of defined policy/parameters.
- Partner with Base Cost FP&A team to ensure accuracy of Statutory Audit fees recorded in Gas Power ledgers, including budget vs actual vs forecast monitoring. Control on Statutory Audit fee overrun approvals collecting appropriate justifications on LE/Branch level.
