We design, manufacture, and install advanced motor, converter, and control system technologies that help improve the efficiency and decarbonization of various industries, thereby accelerating the energy transition in marine, energy, and industrial applications.
We are currently looking for an intern for a period of 6 months.
The Mission:
With the development of DC microgrids, DC data centers, and energy conversion systems (batteries, supercapacitors, fuel cells, and renewable energies), the need to develop adapted protection devices becomes crucial.
Static DC circuit breakers (DC Switch/Solid State DC Switch Breaker) represent a promising alternative to traditional mechanical solutions, allowing for fast, reliable, and compact switching, without arcing, and better integration into power electronic architectures.
Within our GEV-Power Conversion and Storage entity, based in Massy (91), you will be attached to the Power Electronics engineering team of the R&D department, which is responsible for the design and industrialization of power electronic converters from 2 to 50MW. The student will participate in the development of an innovative prototype of a low-voltage, high-current static circuit breaker (DC Switch/Solid State DC Switch Breaker) based on semiconductors and passive elements, as main elements and other functions.
Your main missions will be:
- Conduct a state-of-the-art review of existing technologies (voltage or current protection),
- Study and design the best technology (validate by simulation),
- Define power electronics components (semiconductor, inductance, capacitor, varistor, and NTC&PTC),
