Job Description

Apple's Battery Technology Engineering Program Management team is seeking an Engineering Program Manager (EPM) to develop battery solutions for Apple products. This role involves leading multi-functional teams, leveraging engineering experience to deliver complex solutions efficiently, and driving supplier qualification to Apple Battery specifications. The EPM will apply understanding of battery cell design and manufacturing to manage projects from concept to product integration, pushing industry boundaries for better batteries.

  • Communicate status and big picture to the project team and executive management.
  • BS in Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 3 years of industry experience in Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Industry experience taking technologies from concept definition to mass production.
  • Technical project management experience in material development, mechanical design, simulation, or manufacturing process development.
  • Experience working and managing suppliers across a diverse supply chain.

As a Battery Technology EPM, you'll lead a multi-functional team of battery, chemical, system, and manufacturing engineers, applying a strong technical background to identify, assess and communicate project risks and issues. You will facilitate good communication and offer multiple levels of status across a wide spectrum of individual contributors to executive management, as well as driving day-to-day program activities to meet overall program objectives.

  • Develop project plans, manage, track and report progress to plan and drive solutions to address any/all identified gaps
  • Identify and prioritize project tasks and risks, drive engineering discussions and decisions on critical system parameters
  • Drive day-to-day activities, including build management, to meet overall project objectives
  • Identify and engage cross-functional stakeholders for project definition decisions
  • Communicate status and big picture to the project team and executive management
  • BS in Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 3 years of industry experience in Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Industry experience (preferably Battery or Consumer Electronics) of taking technologies from concept definition to mass production
  • Technical project management experience in material development, mechanical design, simulation, or manufacturing process development
  • Experience in working and managing suppliers across a diverse supply chain
  • Demonstrated adeptness in working in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment; engaged and eager to learn
  • Excellent communication, organizational and leadership skills as well as the ability to filter and distill relevant information for the right audience
  • Experienced in setting up project plans, anticipate potential roadblocks and react proactively to mitigate against risks or impacts
  • Ability to comprehend, communicate and manage complex design tradeoffs
