Job Summary
The Enterprise Business Applications Analyst assists NEDS' departments in optimizing workflow processes through implementing and supporting applications tailored to meet departmental and enterprise needs. This hybrid role involves project coordination, application implementation, validation, upgrades, maintenance, troubleshooting, and documentation. The analyst will support various client departments by analyzing business needs, developing system support, managing projects, and providing technical guidance for enterprise business applications.
Must Have
- Assist NEDS' departments in optimizing workflow processes.
- Implement and support applications tailored to meet departmental and enterprise needs.
- Provide application implementation support and technical guidance.
- Serve as primary resolution point for tier 1 and 2 issues regarding assigned applications.
- Develop and monitor testing scenarios and methodologies.
- Work collaboratively with end-users to understand complex workflows.
- Develop system support, including analysis of business and user needs.
- Translate needs into proper system requirement specifications.
- Manage small to medium-sized assigned projects.
- Oversee upgrades, maintenance, and downtimes for assigned applications.
- Administer the integration of different enterprise applications and platforms using APIs and data connectors.
- Bachelor's degree in health-related field, business, or information technology.
- Three to five years supporting clinical application workflows.
- Project management experience.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel & SharePoint).

New England Donor Services (NEDS) coordinates organ and tissue donation in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, the eastern counties of Vermont and Bermuda. Responsible for one of the largest of the 55 Organ Procurement Organizations (OPOs) that make up the nation’s donation system, NEDS works with over 200 hospitals and serves nearly 15 million people in our region, screening nearly 55,000 potential donor referrals annually. With approximately $140M in operating revenues, NEDS employs 378 clinical and non-clinical staff members throughout New England and across the country.

Job Description
The Enterprise Business Applications Analyst assists NEDS' departments in optimizing workflow processes through implementing and supporting applications that are tailored to meet the departmental and enterprise needs.
Via information technology tactics, this role supports the needs of various client departments or workflows across the organization through project coordination, applications implementation, application validation, upgrades, ongoing maintenance, troubleshooting, enhancements, or documentation. The Applications Analyst is responsible for a full range of enterprise business applications, workflow analyses, and improvement activities.
This is a hybrid position and will require 2-3 days in the Waltham, MA office.
Technical support
- Provides application implementation support, technical guidance, and serves as primary resolution point for all tier 1 and 2 issues regarding assigned applications.
- Develops and monitors testing scenarios and methodologies to demonstrate system effectiveness. Prepares and maintains documentation on testing plans.
- Performs job functions adhering to service principles: customer oriented, service excellence, and teamwork.
Analytics
- Works collaboratively with end-users to understand complex workflows and develop system support, including analysis of business needs and user needs, translation into proper system requirement specifications and documentation of requirements.
- Maintain documentation on application configuration and troubleshooting procedures.
- Evaluates system utilization, auditing, and performance. Participates in system optimization.
- Additional key responsibilities include developing test plans, documenting user requirements, creating scope documents, facilitating project meetings, applying software development lifecycle (SDLC) knowledge and application support.
Project Management
- Manage small to medium-sized assigned projects or particular phases of a larger projects related to application development or deployment, with minimal supervision. Develop and create detailed work plans, timelines and other appropriate documentation, identify appropriate resources needed and provide timely status reports.
- Oversee all upgrades, maintenance and downtimes for assigned applications and vendor management.
- Provide assistance with system selection, including system definition, build, testing and conversion planning and interfaces.
- Administer the integration of different enterprise applications and platforms using tools like APIs and data connectors.
- Adhere to the department's vendor relationship management strategy and intercompany communication.
Training
- Participate and guide the maintenance of user documentation and training procedures.
- Maintain documentation on application configuration and troubleshooting procedures.
- Impart information security policies to protect confidentiality, integrity, and availability of protected data.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Interpersonal and Communication Skills: strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Ability to critically think, problem solve, and work productively both independently and as a team participant. Skilled in active listening and proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Computer & Application Literacy: expert in Microsoft Office suite, focus on SharePoint, Atlassian tools, Smartsheets, Zoom, DocuSign and other applications that facilitate corporate business needs.
- Customer Service: Handles customer questions and complaints, provides appropriate solutions or alternatives. Follows up to ensure resolution.
- Project Management Skills: demonstrated ability to organize, and manage projects, adapt to changing priorities, and utilize time-management skills to meet deadlines.
- Data Analysis: ability to collect, analyze, and present data to identify patterns, trends, and relationships among variables.
- Initiative: Is a self-starter. Seeks solutions and makes practical suggestions. Finds new and better ways to perform job and functions. Displays ingenuity in anticipating and meeting unexpected situations.
- Workload Management: Ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to analyze highly complex situations with multiple variables and make sound recommendations
- Confidentiality: Ability to handle highly confidential information in a professional manner. High level of judgment and discretion.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in health-related field, business, or information technology
- Three to five years supporting clinical application workflows
- Project management experience
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (emphasis on Excel & SharePoint)
This is a hybrid position and with weekly attendance in out Waltham, Ma - at this time we are only reviewing candidates within a reasonable commute distance to the Waltham, MA office.
