ETIC, Data Architect (DataBricks) - Manager

The Data Architect is accountable for the data architecture and design of all assigned products and services. This role involves structured analysis of business data requirements, translating them into data models and designs, and ensuring data consistency across systems. The architect contributes to organizational data knowledge, provides reusable data design patterns, and works with technical and business architects to define data roadmaps, ensuring alignment with standards and best practices.

Must Have

• Design data models to meet solution requirements and translate logical to physical implementations.
• Manage stakeholders, recommending decisions and explaining reasoning.
• Understand data governance and support its evolution.
• Collect, clean, and organize data accurately and securely.
• Understand and implement Machine Learning as part of solution architecture.
• +8 years of experience in a related field.
• Certifications in DataBricks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Undertake structured analysis of business data requirements, translating this analysis into data models and designs that comprise the data components of a solution in collaboration with technical and business architects and product teams in order to satisfy functional and nonfunctional requirements.
• Ensure data is of consistent design across the systems which use it.
• Contribute to organisational knowledge about data and the systems it moves through enabling data to be managed as an asset.
• Can be consulted on the data design of a solution and are capable of providing reusable, data design patterns to ensure consistent data.
• Are familiar with a range of database and data integration technologies and can work with Technical Architects to implement these as part of a solution.
• Can identify potential risks to data by poor design decisions and can explain these to stakeholders
• Look for opportunities to collaborate and reuse data components, communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Work with Product Management and Technical Architects to define data roadmaps for products
• Regularly connect with fellow architects to draw on and share expertise and experiences
• Ensure data architectural decisions align to agreed standards and guidelines or seek exceptions as required
• Contribute to populating and evolving the broader reference data architecture, best practice, and data leadership

Key Skills:

• Information Security: Understand and apply standard PwC security controls, ensuring solution designs are secure by design.
• Data Analytics: Building data analytics solutions using standard enterprise data platforms (PowerBI, Alteryx, Python, Databricks, SQL)
• Data Modelling: Designing data models to meet solution requirements. Translation of logical data models to physical implementations.
• Stakeholder Management: Speaking on behalf of technical teams; recommending decisions and describing the reasoning behind those recommendations
• Data Governance: Understands data governance and how it works in relation to other organisational governance structures. Able to support its evolution and practice through governance of data design.
• Data Management: Collecting, cleaning, and organizing data in an accurate and secure way. Sorting out data, capturing its meaning, and storing it in a format that can be analyzed or used as part of a solution.
• Machine Learning: Understanding and implementation of Machine Learning as part of overall solution architecture.

Qualifications:

• +8 years of experience in any related field
• Certifications in DataBricks Is a must.
• Azure, GCP , or AWS are beneficial but not mandatory.
