Job Summary
The Evidence Research Specialist provides daily research support, education, and assistance to Hayes and symplr Spend Premium Evidence payer and provider customers. This role focuses on responding to customer requests for clinical evidence, practice guidelines, and regulatory details for health technologies, performing research, and documenting interactions to drive customer value and retention.
Must Have
- Respond to customer requests for clinical evidence and regulatory details
- Provide information on Hayes Evidence products and assessment process
- Perform research using internal and external resources
- Conduct bibliographic, regulatory, and Internet research; write ad hoc reports
- Document customer interactions in CRM (SalesForce)
- Collaborate with colleagues for clinical support
- Determine service levels based on customer contracts
- Participate in customer outreach to increase product utilization
- Conduct customer orientation and ongoing training
- Monitor customer usage and drive utilization
- Support sales with clinical evidence demonstrations
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
- Fluency in biomedical terminology
- Outstanding interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database software
- High skill in information seeking and database searches

- Registered Nurse qualification
- Minimum five years of clinical experience
- Exceptional writing skills
- Excellent mastery of the English language

- Experience in Case Management, Utilization Management, Prior Authorization, Value Analysis/Management, Clinical Integration, or Product Standardization
- Experience in policy development or clinical guideline developing

- Working knowledge of evidence grading systems

Overview
The Evidence Research Specialist role provides daily research support, education, and assistance for Hayes and symplr Spend Premium Evidence payer and provider customers to drive value, relationship building, and customer retention.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Respond to customer requests for information on available clinical evidence research, practice guidelines, and regulatory details for health technologies
- Provide customers with information regarding Hayes Evidence products, services, and the Hayes health technology assessment process
- Perform research utilizing resources within and outside of Hayes products
- Conduct bibliographic and regulatory database searches, as well as Internet-based research, and prepare and write ad hoc reports for customers; may include full text literature or abstracts and highlighting of information in Evidence reports
- Maintain complete and thorough documentation of customer interactions in the customer relationship management (CRM) software (SalesForce)
- Interface as needed with colleagues, including other Evidence Research Specialists, Medical Director, Scientific Directors, or Managers of Scientific Research regarding customer requests on specific topics or elements in Evidence reports
- Interface with Scientific Director, and Directors of Spend Management, to ensure appropriate clinical support for customers or prospects
- Determine appropriate level of services available to customer according to contracted assets listed in the CRM
- Participate in customer outreach activities to increase utilization of Hayes Evidence products and services
- Participate in meetings, conferences, trainings, departmental or interdepartmental committees as needed
- Conduct initial orientation and ongoing training for customers and prospects as needed
- Monitor customer usage and drive utilization through interactions and relationships based on insights from customer-specific data
- Support sales team by conducting demonstrations of the value of clinical evidence to potential customers and manage limited trial engagements
- Performance of additional duties and tasks as identified by Management as needed
Skills Required
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and writing, in the English language, including grammar and spelling
- Fluent in biomedical terminology
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to deal with questions, complaints, and inquiries from customers, manufacturers, providers, and consumers
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including ability to manage files, use database software, and work within an electronic environment
- High level of skill in information seeking, including ability to search the Internet and bibliographic and regulatory databases
- Ability to synthesize complex information
- Attention to detail, and ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Ability to work as part of a distributed team

- Registered nurse;
- BSN or advanced degree desirable
- Five plus years clinical experience required
- Exceptional writing skills required
- Excellent mastery of English language required
- Healthcare research experience preferred
- Healthcare payer or provider experience preferred
- Any of the following preferred: Case Management, Utilization Management, Prior Authorization, or Value Analysis/Management, Clinical Integration, or Product Standardization experience, policy development, clinical guideline developing, or understanding of the use of evidence in decision-making within hospitals preferred
- Working knowledge of evidence grading systems preferred
