The Executive Protection Specialist is responsible for physical security, risk identification, and mitigation for HP Inc. This role involves coordinating executive protection efforts at HP Inc. Headquarters in Palo Alto and the Bay Area, working closely with site and regional teams. Key responsibilities include providing close protection for executive members, developing security strategies, assessing exposures, and responding to emergencies. The specialist will also partake in continuous EP training and maintain liaison with government and intelligence professionals. The role requires strong communication, initiative, and digital tool proficiency.

Must Have:
  • Provides close protection of executive members
  • Develops, assesses, and implements protection strategies and plans

  • First-level university degree in Criminal Justice, Security, Law Enforcement or a related field of study, or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years security experience, including associations in law enforcement, military, intelligence and/or corporate experience
  • Experience in small detail, event security, office security, and residential security
  • EP training and experience in team member, detail leader, primary and secondary vehicle driver (including armored vehicles), medical (First Aid, CPR, AED), vulnerability assessments, and protective intelligence
  • Eligible to obtain a Federal Air Marshal Service Armed Security Officer (ASO) certification
  • Operational understanding and fluent usage of today’s technology tools across all platforms
  • Maintain up-to-date driver’s license
  • Valid, current passport
  • Ability to interact with senior management
  • Be a poised leader and collaborator who gains support from all levels of the organization
  • Excellent follow-up skills with attention to detail and ability to multi-task, have leadership presence, strong team-orientation and interpersonal skills, flexibility, and strong analytical skills

Executive Protection Specialist

Description -

The Executive Protection Specialist is responsible for physical security, risk identification and mitigation for HP Inc. Reporting to the Director of Executive Protection, the candidate will coordinate executive protection efforts at HP Inc. Headquarters in Palo Alto and within the Bay Area while working closely with site and regional teams for planning and execution. It’s vital to have wide-ranging knowledge on relevant subject matters including residential security, protective intelligence, surveillance technologies, theories, and techniques. A successful candidate must have exceptional written and oral communications skills, take initiative, be a fast learner, and be a highly motivated user of digital tools to accomplish objectives. The Executive Protection Specialist will assist in managing large events, cross-division functional teams or projects that affect the organization's long-term goals and objectives.

Responsibilities:

o Provides close protection of executive members including developing, assessing, and implementing protection strategies and plans

o Provides guidance and interpretation about security standards, practices, and programs to support regional and global business and security initiatives

o Assesses security exposures and assists with implementing programs to address them, influencing stakeholders as required

o Partakes in continuous Executive Protection training

o Maintains liaison with government, industry, and intelligence professionals

  • Occasionally brief Executives on geopolitical developments, incidents and trends that could affect HP’s business and personnel

o Routinely coordinates with HP Inc. Headquarters site security and Executive Protection Operations

o Responds to security emergencies

o Full-time in office with occasional nights and weekends

o Occasional travel up to 20% in support of key stakeholders

Minimum Qualifications:

o First-level university degree in Criminal Justice, Security, Law Enforcement or a related field of study, or equivalent experience

o 7+ years security experience, including associations in law enforcement, military, intelligence and/or corporate experience. Must include small detail, event security, office security, and residential security

o Possesses EP training and experience in the following specialties: team member, detail leader, primary and secondary vehicle driver (including armored vehicles), medical (First Aid, CPR, AED), vulnerability assessments, and protective intelligence

o Eligible to obtain a Federal Air Marshal Service Armed Security Officer (ASO) certification

o Operational understanding and fluent usage of today’s technology tools across all platforms (PC, tablet, smartphone-smartwatch, radio, satellite, tracking device, etc.)

o Must maintain up-to-date driver’s license

o Valid, current passport

o Ability to interact with senior management

o Be a poised leader and collaborator who gains support from all levels of the organization, including senior executives

o Excellent follow-up skills with attention to detail and ability to multi-task, have leadership presence, strong team-orientation and interpersonal skills, flexibility, and strong analytical skills
