Must Have

A Little About Us

The Corporate Services FP&A team supports Yahoo’s Corporate functions, including Finance, Legal, HR, Marketing, and Real Estate. This group is responsible for leading the planning/budgeting process, providing reports and insights to Corporate and other partners, as well as ad hoc requests.

Responsibilities

The Senior Financial Analyst will be a crucial member of the FP&A team, supporting the Yahoo Corporate Services groups by providing stakeholders operational support as well as regular expense reporting and insights. This role will be responsible for modeling financial budgets/forecasts and inputting them into our planning tool, providing leadership with expense and allocation analysis, and addressing ad hoc projects.

  • Modeling of accurate monthly/quarterly/annual budgets and forecasts for groups within Yahoo Corp Services, and loading these projections into our reporting system
  • Variance analysis of the department’s monthly/quarterly close against budget/forecast
  • Gather and analyze appropriate data to prepare reports and forecasts, researching cost trends in partnership with budget owners
  • Gain understanding of how Yahoo’s Corp Services serve their business segment partners and use this to prepare accurate corporate allocations
  • Regularly review and improve processes to create efficiencies
  • Team and cross-functional communication (partnering with groups including Finance, HR, Legal, Marketing, Real Estate)
  • Helping with ad hoc projects that involve our key stakeholders

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field
  • 3+ years of related financial experience
  • Must have general understanding of accounting and finance principles
  • Advanced Excel / Gsheets skillset with a strong desire to learn and improve
  • Good quantitative and analytical skills; attention to detail; problem-solving abilities; organized; detail-oriented
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines quickly and accurately
  • Located on US East Coast

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Oracle, Anaplan, and Hyperion Essbase a plus
  • Experience with AI or macro automation of financial reporting

The compensation for this position ranges from $72,750.00 - $151,250.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
