Job Description

Autodesk is seeking a highly experienced Sr. Finance Business Analyst to perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for ongoing projects impacting the Finance organization, particularly expanding the SAP platform. This role involves blending finance knowledge with quality assurance testing of business applications and systems. The analyst will execute test cases, validate controls, and ensure new business requirements are met, working asynchronously with US-based test leads. Responsibilities include planning, developing, and executing test strategies, collaborating with engineering, documenting results, and coordinating UAT sessions with business users.
Good To Have:
  • Chartered Accountant certification.
  • Advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or related field.

Must Have:
  • Perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for ongoing projects impacting Finance.

Position Overview

Autodesk is seeking a highly experienced Sr. Finance Business Analyst with extensive E2E Finance ERP systems experience to perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for ongoing projects that impact the Finance organization. The ideal candidate should have attained their Chartered Accountant certification or have attained sufficient experience working within a corporate accounting organization. This unique position requires a professional who can blend their finance knowledge and skills to perform quality assurance testing of business applications and systems, particularly within the context of expanding our SAP platform and enabling business growth. The ideal candidate will be an integral part of the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) process, augmenting existing US-based resources to ensure the successful deployment of new functionality within our financial systems. You will primarily work asynchronously to execute test cases to validate existing controls have been addressed and new business requirements have been met for new projects and programs. Your test results would be initially validated by US-based test leads who oversee specific process functions such as order capture, revenue accounting and reporting. Eventually, you will help reduce the amount of testing performed by US-based resources through independent test executions, process improvements and test automations.

Responsibilities

Quality Assurance Testing

  • Participate in the planning, development, execution, and maintenance of test strategies with an emphasis on early detection of defects that impact finance business users
  • Attend workshops, design reviews, demos and program meetings during PST hours. During UAT attend daily hand-off sessions during PST hours to share results and concerns about testing activities. · Collaborate with Engineering to review end-to-end (E2E) testing validations from a Finance perspective. Provide targeted feedback to enhance the process by identifying areas of significant concern
  • Educate the engineering team on critical systems that require thorough review and explain their importance to Finance stakeholders. Foster alignment between Finance and Engineering validations to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Work with development teams to prioritize, resolve and retest issues
  • Document and maintain test results to assist in debugging and system modification
  • Use QA engagement to prepare for User Acceptance Testing

User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

  • Create and maintain detailed documentation of test plans, test cases, test scripts, and results
  • Design and execute test cases to identify defects and ensure software meets business requirements and user expectations
  • Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to understand product requirements and ensure complete testing coverage
  • Assist mapping requirements to test cases
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts to increase efficiency and repeatability
  • Coordinate and conduct UAT sessions with business users, gather feedback, and ensure alignment with user needs
  • Track and report on testing progress and defect resolution, ensuring timely issue resolution
  • Verify successful deployment of software enhancements and bug fixes, ensuring they meet acceptance criteria
  • Support continuous improvement by recommending better tools, processes, and practices for UAT activities
  • Ensure testing activities comply with established standards, processes, and schedules for high-quality software delivery
  • Simulate user experience, provide feedback on design improvements, and ensure seamless integration of new features within the system architecture
  • Collaborate with business users and IT teams to plan and coordinate UAT activities, ensuring financial systems meet user requirements and business objectives
  • Provide expertise in business processes and financial operations to validate functionality, stability, usability, and performance of ERP systems

Financial Accounting Analysis and Support

  • Ensure compliance with accounting rules and policies, preparing information for financial analysis and reporting
  • Leverage financial and accounting expertise to enhance the UAT process by understanding and analyzing system outputs, thereby providing critical insights for decision-making
  • Utilize finance training to aggregate and manipulate financial data, generating comprehensive reports that support strategic planning and enhance the effectiveness of UAT
  • Apply knowledge of accounting rules and policies to ensure compliance during the UAT process, preparing accurate financial information for analysis and reporting
  • Integrate financial insights into the UAT process to ensure that financial systems, ERP functionalities and reporting meet business requirements and user expectations

Compliance and Risk Management

  • Ensure all UAT and financial activities comply with regulations, internal policies, and industry best practices
  • Manage the UAT sign-off process for SOX audits, ensuring timely delivery of test artifacts and explanations for audit purposes

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., Chartered Accountant, CPA, , CMA, Certified Quality Analyst are preferred
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate accounting, corporate financial analysis, and/or business systems QA, with significant expertise in SAP Financials and Revenue Accounting and Reporting (RAR) and Management Reporting (MR)
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong proficiency in SAP ERP systems, financial management software, quality assurance tools, and testing methodologies
  • Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to translate business requirements into business use cases
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships across all levels of the organization
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a strong drive for results
