Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced engineer to lead validation and testing activities for hardware solutions including on- and off-chip firmware on IoT Sub-GHz communication frontend chips. This role combines hands-on technical work with leadership responsibilities, guiding a small team of junior engineers to ensure high-quality deliverables. The engineer will drive test specifications, design and execute validation plans, and extend existing test frameworks for functional, stress, and performance testing, striving for automation.
Must Have
- Drive specifications for test setups and test cases from system level requirements.
- Design and execute validation plans for IoT frontend chip firmware.
- Apply and extend existing test frameworks and scripts for functional, stress and performance testing.
- Strive for fully automated and reproducible test setups and test execution flows.
- Lead and mentor a team of 3–5 junior engineers.
- Provide guidance on best practices for firmware testing and debugging.
- Work package break down and effort estimations.
- Work closely with hardware, software, and system teams to ensure seamless integration.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams in English.
- Implement Test Setups and Lab Setups including IoT RF communication.
- Create test specifications and lead the test implementation using Python and C.
- Analyze test results and troubleshoot issues at firmware and system level.
- Strong experience in firmware validation and testing for embedded systems.
- Proficiency in Python and C programming.
- Strong experience in working under lab conditions and handling RF equipment for interoperability testing.
- Excellent command of English (written and spoken).
- Solid understanding of Sub-GHz IoT communication protocols and frontend chip architecture.
- Proven ability to lead and mentor a small engineering team.
- Hands-on approach with strong problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:
Firmware Validation & Testing:
- Drive specifications for test setups and test cases from system level requirements.
- Design and execute validation plans for IoT frontend chip firmware.
- Apply and – where required - extend existing test frameworks and scripts for functional, stress and performance testing.
- Strive for fully automated and reproducible test setups and test execution flows.
Technical Leadership:
- Lead and mentor a team of 3–5 junior engineers.
- Provide guidance on best practices for firmware testing and debugging.
- Work package break down and effort estimations
Collaboration:
- Work closely with hardware, software, and system teams to ensure seamless integration.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams in English.
Hands-On Development:
- Implement Test Setups and Lab Setups including IoT RF communication.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
