We are seeking a talented individual to join our regional Financial Planning & Analysis team at Marsh McLennan. This hybrid role, based in Lisbon, requires working at least three days a week in the office. Responsibilities include analyzing financial data, reviewing reports, conducting audits, and assisting in month-end close, budgeting, and forecasting. The role demands strong analytical skills, proficiency in MS Office and Excel, and excellent communication. Candidates should have 7+ years of relevant business experience.
Must have:
  • Analyze basic financial data and quantitative analyses to support sound and defensible recommendations.
  • Review and conduct simple analysis of financial planning information and reports, and make recommendations for changes to management.
  • Conduct basic audit activities to comply with requirements.
  • Maintain best practices policies to maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Communicate with management on a consistent basis to ensure sound fiscal management.
  • Assist in the month end close process by preparing recurring/standard and ad hoc reports, researching general ledger activities and variances to budget and prior year.
  • Evaluate financial plans by identifying financial outcomes and potential returns.
  • Assist in the development of budgets and quarterly forecasts; track and report initiatives.
  • Prepare financial planning information and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
  • Improve financial planning job knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices.

We will count on you to:

What you need to have:

  • Overall 7+ years relevant business experience;
  • Ability to understand and articulate financial impact or decisions;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Show initiative and contribute to a continuous improvement environment;
  • Proficient in MS Office, Advanced Excel (manipulate big data) and PowerPoint;
  • Highly proficient in data analysis and data extraction and manipulation;
  • Comfortable presenting to regional team members, able to appropriately challenge the team;
  • Proven track record of delivering to deadlines;
  • Active team player with the ability to work across geographies;
  • Be open for new challenges and willing to undertake additional responsibilities;
  • English fluent business language level.
