Job Description
As a Frontend Developer at Poki, you'll play a key role in shaping how users experience their platform. Responsibilities include building and optimizing for millions of players across various devices, collaborating on features to improve gameplay and community interaction, ensuring a seamless multi-device experience, contributing to code quality through peer reviews and sustainable practices, and experimenting with new features and A/B tests to enhance user experience and performance. You will work with React + Redux to build dynamic, scalable SPAs and utilize advanced HTML/CSS skills to create responsive, performant layouts. Experience with JavaScript (ES6) and TypeScript is essential.

As a Frontend Developer at Poki, you’ll play a key role in shaping how users experience our platform. You will work on high-impact features and improvements, enhancing content discovery, social interactions, and performance. Whether you’re working on improving gameplay experience, running an A/B experiment, or making a new tool for our Content team, your work will directly impact our players.
Your Challenge as a Frontend Developer
- Building and Optimizing at Scale: You'll help ensure a smooth, lag-free experience for millions of players across various devices and network conditions
- Collaborating on Features: Work with cross-functional teams to design and implement features that improve the gameplay experience, community interaction, and player engagement
- Ensuring a Seamless Multi-Device Experience: Poki is accessed across desktops, tablets, and mobiles – your role is to make sure everything works smoothly and consistently, regardless of device or screen size
- Contributing to Code Quality: We value clean, maintainable code. You’ll help ensure the long-term quality of our codebase through peer reviews, sustainable practices, and constant improvements
- Experimenting and Iterating: As part of a fast-moving team, you’ll experiment with new features, launch A/B tests, and constantly refine the platform to improve user experience and performance
You
- Have around five years experience in web development
- Are experienced with React + Redux and are comfortable using them to build dynamic, scalable SPAs.
- Have advanced skills in HTML/CSS, creating responsive, performant layouts that work seamlessly across different devices and browsers.
- Experience with JavaScript (ES6) and TypeScript – we’re migrating our codebase to TypeScript, and your knowledge will help us make that transition.
- Familiarity with Figma or a similar tool, and are comfortable translating designs into interactive web components.
- Bonus if you have experience with any of the following: RxJS, Playwright, or other testing frameworks to ensure high-quality code.
