Game Director, Ready or Not

This is a fully remote, full-time, permanent contractor position. 
 
We are VOID Interactive, the team behind the best-selling FPS game, Ready or Not. Our team of 50 is made up of some seriously talented individuals who love video games and creating awesome content together. We’re seeking a dedicated, professional and enthusiastic Game Director to help us elevate Ready or Not to new heights and establish it as a staple franchise that will be around for generations to come across all viable platforms.  

As our Game Director, you will play a vital role by making high-level business decisions, driving strategic initiatives, collaborating with each department and ensuring the studio's overall success. Our goal is strong: to establish Ready or Not as the quintessential FPS of our time.  

In this role, you'll oversee:  

• Developing, articulating, and executing a comprehensive and forward-thinking strategy for the studio, aligning with the company's overarching vision and objectives. 
• Holistic grasp of the entire game development process, from narrative to programming with empathetic consideration of all studio facets to foster cohesive teamwork.
• Evaluation of market trends, industry dynamics, and emerging technologies to inform strategic decision-making and maintain a competitive edge. 
• Leading of high-level discussions and initiatives, providing insightful guidance to the leadership team and influencing the long-term direction of the studio. 
• Cultivation of a collaborative and innovative team culture, fostering an environment where diverse talents contribute to the achievement of strategic goals. 
• Empowering and guiding team members to understand and align their work with the broader strategic objectives of the studio. 
• Facilitation of regular communication and feedback channels to ensure that the team remains engaged and motivated in executing strategic initiatives. 
  
• Collaboration with finance and executive teams to align financial strategies with broader business goals. 
   

Of course, you won't be alone on this mission - you'll be collaborating with the entire team and outside vendors to ensure we're maximising our efforts and achieving our goals!  

Here’s what you'll be bringing to the team: 

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, or a related field (preferred). 
• 8+ years in a managerial role within the video game industry, with AAA experience.
• Strong understanding of game development processes, market trends, and player preferences. 
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills in a dynamic, fully-remote environment.  
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams to achieve ambitious goals. 
• Strategic thinking, great problem-solving skills. 
• Financial acumen and experience managing budgets. 
• Proven expertise in rapidly growing a team, transitioning from a small setup to a larger capacity within the span of 12 months.
