Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented General Accounting Manager to lead the global accounting function for our 13+ entities spread across the US, UK, Europe, and India. This role is critical in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting across multiple jurisdictions. The ideal candidate will be a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with hands-on experience in finalizing global accounts, managing accruals, configuring ERP systems for multi-dimensional reporting, and applying transfer pricing principles in a global services context to optimize profitability and taxation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Global Financial Close & Reporting:
- Own and drive the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process across 13+ global entities
- Finalize statutory and management accounts in compliance with local and group GAAPs (India, US GAAP, IFRS, etc.)
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly reviews of financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financials at the legal entity level, with granularity for location and service line segmentation
- Managerial reporting
- P&L by Location – broken out by line of service
- P&L by Line of Service broken out by location
- Any additional MIS reports as required by management
- Ensuring that the chart of accounts is responsive to the Company’s reporting needs
- Maintain consistency in reporting structures across global entities
2. Accruals & Expense Management:
- Ensure proper accruals are booked for all cost items and reversed accurately in subsequent periods
- Review expense trends, prepaid amortizations, and reclass entries to ensure accurate period reporting
- Collaborate with FP&A and/or operational teams to validate completeness of accruals
- Calculation and accrual of sales commissions each month
3. ERP Configuration & Chart of Accounts:
- Configure and maintain the chart of accounts to support the evolving legal, geographic, and business-level reporting
- Lead efforts to harmonize global accounting practices through system configuration
4. Transfer Pricing & Intercompany:
- Ensure adherence to transfer pricing regulations, including documentation, invoicing, and margin monitoring
- Collaborate with tax and legal teams to maintain compliant intercompany arrangements
- Support global audits and tax filings related to intercompany transactions
- Manage and optimize intercompany transactions
5. Forecasting and Costing
- Supervise the preparation of a 13-week direct cash flow statement with inputs from the AR and AP teams
- Highlight cash surpluses and shortfalls for management actions
- Prepare a weekly estimate of current month profitability
- Prepare a 12-month forecast of profitability synchronized with the month end reporting
6. Audits and Compliances
- Ensure timely completion of all audits/reviews/compilations at individual entity level as required
- Ensure timely completion of the global consolidated audit
- Be the primary point of contact for audit and accounting firms for above purposes
- Implement and maintain strong internal controls across the accounting function
7. Taxes and other Regulatory filings
- Provide assistance to the company professionals in the timely preparation and filing of tax returns
- Ensure timely filing and adherence to matters of regulatory compliance including GST and VAT refunds
- Prepare all the necessary inputs for the filing of subsidies and other tax incentives available to the company in other jurisdictions
Key Requirements:
- 12–15 years of experience in accounting and financial reporting in a global or multi-entity environment
- Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is mandatory
- Reports To: Director – Finance
- Proven track record in finalization of accounts, multi-entity reporting, and ERP configuration
- Strong understanding of transfer pricing regulations and intercompany accounting
- In-depth knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and local compliance across multiple jurisdictions
- Experience with ERPs such as SAGE, Quickbooks or similar systems
- High attention to detail, analytical mindset, and excellent organizational skills
- Strong analytical, process-oriented, and communication skills
- Excellent English verbal and written skills and ability to communicate effectively with North American and European stakeholders across functions
- Familiarity with MS Excel. Advanced skills with Excel shortcuts preferred
