Job Description
Role summary:
Lead the APAC Business Development (BUD) function for Home Comfort, owning regional growth strategy and execution across priority markets (e.g., China, Japan, India, Taiwan, SEA). Steer portfolio, channel, pricing, inorganic growth, and cross-functional delivery to achieve sustainable revenue, market share, and EBIT objectives aligned with HC global strategy.
Strategy & planning:
Translate global HC strategy into APAC regional priorities and three-year plans. Define strategic business segments by market and channel; perform market sizing, competitive benchmarking, and “ability to win” assessments. Establish annual OKRs and a rolling portfolio roadmap.
Portfolio & pricing:
Localize and optimize product portfolio and price architecture for APAC, balancing premium positioning with value tiers. Partner with R&D, Product, and Finance on value-based pricing, margin guardrails, and phase-in/phase-out decisions.
Channel & go-to-market:
Drive regional channel strategy across retail, distribution, installer networks, and e-commerce. Build account plans with country sales leaders; accelerate digital commerce, marketplace presence, and omnichannel activation. Set sell-in/sell-out targets and monitor conversion.
Inorganic growth (M&A/JV/partnerships):
Identify and evaluate APAC targets within approved search fields; lead business case, valuation (DCF/CoA framework), synergy modeling, and due diligence. Structure JVs and strategic partnerships (manufacturing, technology, commercial). Orchestrate approvals, anti-trust filings, and Day‑1 readiness; coordinate PMI.
Operations enablement:
Coordinate demand planning, supply, and localization with Manufacturing, Procurement, and Logistics to ensure service levels, cost‑to‑serve, and compliance. Optimize regional footprint and near-shoring where relevant.
Regulatory & compliance:
Ensure adherence to regional regulations (product safety, energy efficiency, import/export, data privacy). Partner with Legal, Tax, HSE, and Quality for risk mitigation and certifications.
Talent & leadership:
Build and lead a diverse APAC BUD team; set goals, coach country/functional leads, and develop succession. Foster an inclusive, high-performance culture with strong cross‑border collaboration.
Financial management:
Own regional BUD budget and contribute to APAC P&L outcomes. Track NPV/FCF, EBIT, and ROI of strategic initiatives. Govern external advisor spend and ensure value‑for‑money.
Governance & stakeholder management:
Run monthly APAC BUD reviews; prepare M&A Board inputs; align with HC Board/G3 on key decisions. Manage stakeholders across countries, corporate functions (C/COA, C/FI, C/TX, C/LS), and external partners (banks, advisors).
Competitive intelligence & analytics:
Maintain APAC competitor dashboards, quarterly performance reviews, and deep dives. Monitor consolidation moves and partnership trends; recommend countermeasures and offensive plays.
Program management & reporting:
Establish rigorous PMO cadence (staffing, milestones, risk logs), and report progress in APAC BVS and global forums. Track cost, timeline, and benefits realization.
Qualifications
Advanced knowledge in strategy, finance (valuation, DCF, FCF), channel management, and APAC regulatory environments. Technical depth sits with specialists (Legal/IP, Finance, Tax, HR, HSE, IT, Production, Procurement), while the APAC BUD Head must integrate, challenge, and anticipate cross‑functional needs.
Pan‑APAC scope across diverse regulatory, language, and cultural contexts. Requires intercultural communication, negotiation, and governance skills; fluency in English is essential, with additional regional languages advantageous.
