Job Summary

Axel Springer's BOOK family, with its five online magazines, reaches over 17 million monthly visits. We seek a (Senior) Business Manager for our Product and Business Management team to drive the strategic development of TRAVELBOOK. This role involves managing partnerships, developing marketing concepts, and overseeing initiatives to boost reach and revenue. The ideal candidate will work in interdisciplinary teams, make data-based decisions, and contribute to cross-vertical projects, shaping the future of digital journalism.

Must Have

  • Responsible for the further development of TRAVELBOOK
  • Manage strategic partnership concepts, including evaluation and negotiation
  • Act as a stakeholder in interdisciplinary teams (editorial, marketing, tech)
  • Develop and implement marketing concepts and cooperation ideas
  • Steer the development and implementation of measures to expand and increase the reach of TRAVELBOOK
  • Conceive, plan, implement, monitor, and control marketing activities
  • Monitor company goals, plan and control revenue, profit, and reach forecasts
  • Create business plans and decision templates for future projects
  • Completed degree in Business Administration, Media Management, Digital Media, Business Informatics, or comparable
  • Affinity for travel topics combined with experience as Business Development or Project Manager for digital products
  • Experience with partner cooperations and marketing of content offers
  • Analytical skills and data-based decision-making, especially for performance KPIs
  • Fluent in German and English
  • Proficient in AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT), Microsoft 365, and common tracking tools

What you will move with us:

  • You are responsible for the further development of TRAVELBOOK and take on strategic partnership concepts, including evaluation and negotiation, and shape the relationship with the cooperation partner.
  • You are a stakeholder for working in interdisciplinary teams with editorial, marketing, and tech.
  • You are responsible for the development and implementation of marketing concepts and cooperation ideas in collaboration with the Sales and Business Development teams.
  • You manage the development and implementation of measures to expand and increase the reach of TRAVELBOOK.
  • You conceptualize, plan, and implement marketing activities, monitor, and control their success.
  • You keep company goals in mind, plan and control revenue, profit, and reach forecasts, create business plans and decision templates for future projects.
  • In the Business Management team, you occasionally support other verticals (e.g., TECHBOOK, FITBOOK, myHOMEBOOK, PETBOOK, COMPUTERBILD.de) and take on cross-cutting projects for all BOOKs and COMPUTERBILD.de, for example B2C or B2B events.

What you bring:

  • You have a completed degree in Business Administration, Media Management, Digital Media, Business Informatics, or a comparable education.
  • You have been able to combine your affinity for travel topics with experience as a Business Development or Project Manager for digital products.
  • You bring experience with partner cooperations and marketing of content offers and convince with your inventiveness and creativity in conception.
  • With your understanding of numbers, you work analytically and make data-based decisions, especially when evaluating performance KPIs.
  • You enjoy developing further and learning new things in a team.
  • You communicate fluently in German and English and are proficient in using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT), Microsoft 365, and common tracking tools.
