Job Summary

The Metadata Executive is responsible for sourcing, validating, and organizing accurate movie-related information from multiple internal and external sources. This role ensures that all data entered into content systems is precise, well-documented, and updated regularly to support content operations, mastering, marketing, and client requirements. The position demands strong research skills, attention to detail, documentation discipline, and effective coordination with stakeholders.

Must Have

  • Source movie information from verified platforms such as official websites, magazines, movie kits, bulletins, and other reliable databases.
  • Perform data mining to collect deep and relevant information for each title.
  • Continuously monitor external sources to keep information updated and accurate.
  • Validate all collected metadata with trusted and official sources.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency before data entry.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of all source references.
  • Enter accurate and complete information into the Movie Form or content management systems.
  • Track, update, and maintain all shared documents and metadata trackers.
  • Assist in storing, organizing, and maintaining backups of research documents and metadata files.
  • Coordinate with internal Marketing and Mastering teams to gather required movie information.
  • Work with external partners, distributors, or content providers to keep information flowing.
  • Participate in client meetings to understand metadata requirements and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks.
  • Maintain daily trackers for workflow, output, and pending metadata items.
  • Support the creation of periodic reports summarizing metadata progress and accuracy.

Good to Have

  • Prior experience in Metadata, Content Operations, or Media/Entertainment industry.
  • Understanding of movie production, distribution, or mastering workflows.

Metadata Specialist

Role Overview

The Metadata Executive is responsible for sourcing, validating, and organizing accurate movie-related information from multiple internal and external sources. This role ensures that all data entered into content systems is precise, well-documented, and updated regularly to support content operations, mastering, marketing, and client requirements. The position demands strong research skills, attention to detail, documentation discipline, and effective coordination with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

1. Data Sourcing & Research

  • Source movie information from verified platforms such as official websites, magazines, movie kits, bulletins, and other reliable databases.
  • Perform data mining to collect deep and relevant information for each title.
  • Continuously monitor external sources to keep information updated and accurate.

2. Data Verification & Quality Assurance

  • Validate all collected metadata with trusted and official sources.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency before data entry.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of all source references.

3. Metadata Entry & Documentation

  • Enter accurate and complete information into the Movie Form or content management systems.
  • Track, update, and maintain all shared documents and metadata trackers.
  • Assist in storing, organizing, and maintaining backups of research documents and metadata files.

4. Coordination & Communication

  • Coordinate with internal Marketing and Mastering teams to gather required movie information.
  • Work with external partners, distributors, or content providers to keep information flowing.
  • Participate in client meetings to understand metadata requirements and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks.

5. Reporting & Tracking

  • Maintain daily trackers for workflow, output, and pending metadata items.
  • Support the creation of periodic reports summarizing metadata progress and accuracy.

Skills & Qualifications

Required

  • Strong research, data mining, and internet sourcing skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Google Sheets).
  • Photoshop skills would be an added advantage
  • Ability to multitask and work within tight timelines.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Should be flexible to work on Shifts and Weekends

Preferred

  • Prior experience in Metadata, Content Operations, or Media/Entertainment industry.
  • Understanding of movie production, distribution, or mastering workflows.
