Job Summary
The Shipping Analytics team at eBay seeks a Senior Data Science Analyst to drive key shipping initiatives through data-driven insights and advanced analytics. This role involves applying advanced analytics, AI, and data science techniques to build scalable data products, uncover insights, and shape strategic decisions across eBay’s global shipping ecosystem. The analyst will focus on developing and scaling Cross Border shipping solutions, partnering with Product, Business, and Finance teams, and owning the program's strategy and decision-making through data and experimentation.
Must Have
- Deliver actionable insights and advanced analytics to solve complex global shipping challenges.
- Drive the development, launch, and measurement of new global shipping solutions.
- Build and optimize models that balance speed, cost, and profitability.
- Analyze customer behaviors and pain points, recommending product and policy improvements.
- Design, run, and interpret A/B tests to inform decisions.
- Develop robust data pipelines, dashboards, and AI-powered anomaly detection systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in data science or analytics with a strong record of independently delivering high-impact projects.
- Proficiency with Python, SQL, Excel, and data visualization tools such as Tableau.
- Demonstrated expertise in product analytics, especially designing and measuring A/B tests.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data concepts to diverse audiences.
Good to Have
- Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline.
- Familiarity with modern AI tools and frameworks (e.g., Gemini, GPT, large language models).
- Collaborative approach to solving problems in a dynamic, cross-functional setting.

About the Team & Role
Shipping Analytics team drives eBay’s key shipping initiatives through data-driven insights and advanced analytics. We are a global, fast-paced team passionate about making shipping at eBay more reliable, accurate, affordable and seamless through the use of AI, innovation, and experimentation. We are looking for a collaborative and analytical problem-solver with strong business insight and technical depth. You’ll apply advanced analytics, AI and data science techniques to build scalable data products, uncover insights, and shape strategic decisions across eBay’s shipping ecosystem.
In this role, your goal is to help ebay roll out and develop Cross Border shipping solutions across multiple markets. You will act as a key partner to Product, Business and Finance teams in helping get these solutions off the ground and scaling them fully. This role gives you ownership of the program and you will be responsible to build the company strategy and decision making using data, insights and experimentation.
What you will do:
- Deliver actionable insights and advanced analytics to solve complex global shipping challenges, directly influencing international business strategy and innovation.
- Drive the development, launch, and measurement of new global shipping solutions, scaling adoption and defining critical success metrics.
- Build and optimize models that balance speed, cost, and profitability to maximize customer value and business outcomes.
- Analyze customer behaviors and pain points, partnering across teams to recommend product and policy improvements that drive engagement and growth.
- Design, run, and interpret A/B tests to inform decisions about product features, pricing strategies, and market policies, enabling data-informed business choices.
- Develop robust data pipelines, dashboards, and AI-powered anomaly detection systems to empower stakeholders with real-time insights and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
What you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics) or equivalent experience; Master’s degree is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in data science or analytics, with a strong record of independently delivering high-impact projects.
- Proficiency with Python, SQL, Excel, and data visualization tools such as Tableau to translate data into actionable stories.
- Demonstrated expertise in product analytics, especially designing and measuring A/B tests for business optimization.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data concepts to diverse, non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with modern AI tools and frameworks (e.g., Gemini, GPT, large language models) and a collaborative approach to solving problems in a dynamic, cross-functional setting.
