Job Summary
Publicis Media is seeking a hands-on Senior Data Engineer with strong SQL and Python skills to build, optimize, and automate data pipelines and analytics-ready data models. Must Have
- Strong SQL expertise, including complex joins, CTEs, window functions, and performance tuning
- Proven experience with dimensional data modeling for analytics and reporting
- Strong Python skills for building data pipelines and automation workflows
- Hands-on experience with relational databases such as SQL Server or Amazon Redshift
- Ability to design scalable and cost-aware data solutions
Good to Have
- Experience with AWS data services (S3, Glue, Lambda, Redshift)
- Exposure to Databricks or Spark-based data platforms
- Familiarity with BI and analytics tools such as Tableau or Alteryx

We are seeking a hands-on Data Engineer with strong SQL and Python skills who can build, optimize, and automate data pipelines and analytics-ready data models. This role is primarily focused on data engineering for reporting and analytics, with a secondary emphasis on platform reliability, observability, and cost optimization in cloud-based data environments.
This is an individual contributor role focused primarily on hands-on development, including building and optimizing scalable data pipelines and models. A portion of the role involves supporting production systems through observability, reliability improvements, and platform continuity.
Responsibilities
• Design, build, and optimize high-performance SQL queries for analytics and reporting use cases
• Develop and maintain fact and dimension data models (star schemas, shared dimensions)
• Write reusable, dynamic SQL logic, including views and stored procedures
• Build and maintain Python-based ETL/ELT pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and delivery
• Implement scalable, maintainable pipeline patterns including logging, error handling, and automation
• Partner with analytics and business teams to translate requirements into efficient data models
• Contribute to platform reliability and continuity across AWS and Databricks data environments
• Improve observability for data pipelines through logging, metrics, and alerting
• Support performance tuning and cost optimization for data workloads in AWS, Self hosted SQL server, Redshift, and Databricks
• Assist with auditing, access controls, and data governance across data platforms using automation.
• Participate in root-cause analysis and reliability improvements for data pipeline failures
• Collaborate with cloud and infrastructure teams to improve performance and stability of data platforms
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or BI engineering roles
• Strong SQL expertise, including complex joins, CTEs, window functions, and performance tuning
• Proven experience with dimensional data modeling for analytics and reporting
• Strong Python skills for building data pipelines and automation workflows
• Hands-on experience with relational databases such as SQL Server or Amazon Redshift
• Ability to design scalable and cost-aware data solutions
Nice to have skills:

Compensation Range: $121,000.00 - $153,000.00 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
