Job Summary

Broadcom Inc., a Fortune 10 company and a global technology leader, is seeking an experienced, hard-working corporate attorney with substantial mergers, acquisitions and investments experience to join its Legal team. This position, Head of M&A Legal, will report to the Deputy General Counsel and Managing Director, Corporate Affairs, and will be based in Palo Alto, CA. The ideal candidate will lead complex M&A transactions, manage legal matters, and advise internal stakeholders, contributing to Broadcom's track record of strategic acquisitions and growth.

Must Have

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and bar admission (California preferred)
  • 5-15 years legal experience; at least 5 years at a top-tier law firm or 5 years in-house
  • Significant mergers and acquisitions transactional experience
  • Must be a self-starter able to work well under pressure who drives resolution of issues
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Organization, time-management skills, accuracy and attention to detail are essential
  • Ability to multitask and set priorities to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated experience in resolving challenging legal issues
  • Ability to deliver concise, accurate and practical legal advice in a business setting
  • Understanding of insider trading, antitrust and regulatory or investment-related laws, requirements & best practices
  • Must be able to work well with a wide range of different groups and personalities

This position will report to the Deputy General Counsel and Managing Director, Corporate Affairs overseeing M&A, Strategic Transactions and Corporate Finance, and will be based in the Company’s headquarters in Palo Alto, CA. The ideal candidate will be experienced in complex M&A transactions, including global public and private mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, investment and joint venture transactions. Proficiency with IP licensing, employment, antitrust issues are a plus. The successful candidate will be highly organized and motivated, able to solve problems while working well both as part of a team and independently, with a proven track record of communicating effectively with senior management.

The Legal team consists of a versatile group of seasoned, hard-working professionals with a “hands-on, can-do” attitude, working in a fast-paced, high stakes business environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead transactions with and without outside counsel support
  • Efficiently manage outside counsel
  • Advise internal stakeholders on all aspects of a transaction
  • Manage integration legal matters
  • Review and negotiate non-disclosure agreements
  • Assistance with PR and communications activities related to transactions
  • Conduct educational presentations on legal and regulatory matters as needed

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and bar admission (California preferred) required

  • Must be able to work well with a wide range of different groups and personalities

This position is on-site at the Palo Alto, CA office location.

Additional Job Description:

Compensation and Benefits

The annual base salary range for this position is $171,900 - $275,000.

This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
