Goldin is looking for an experienced Sales Director to drive strategic, multi-year deals to ensure a consistent pipeline of exclusive, high-value inventory to augment our successful relationship-driven consignments approach to acquire collectibles

Responsibilities include forming long-term partnerships with sports leagues, athletes, teams, and agencies. This role will report directly to the Head of Revenue and Sports Consignment, ensuring strategic deal-making aligns with and enhances our existing business model and consignment relationships. This role will have a dotted line into the Partnerships team within the eBay Global Collectibles team to ensure an aligned approach across eBay and Goldin.

This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned business development professional to create sustained deal flow, significantly impact revenue growth, and strengthen Goldin's brand authority in the sports collectibles market.

What you will accomplish:

  • Strategic Deal Identification and Development: Identify, research, and evaluate potential multi-year partnership opportunities with leagues, teams, athletes, and agencies to secure exclusive access to collectibles.
  • Negotiation and Deal Closing: Lead negotiations and execute complex, long-term agreements, ensuring mutually beneficial terms that drive value for both Goldin and our partners.
  • Internal Alignment: Act as the bridge between revenue leadership and the consignment/customer-facing teams, ensuring new deals complement and reinforce existing consignment relationships. Collaborate closely with eBay partnerships, legal, accounting, eBay finance, and marketing teams to ensure deals meet all internal requirements.
  • Relationship Management: Build and nurture strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders in the sports world, from leagues and teams to agencies, athletes and collectible manufacturers.
  • Market Analysis and Strategy: Stay current on industry trends and the competitive landscape to inform deal-making strategy and identify new avenues for securing premium inventory. Looking to explore partnerships with professional sports teams and leagues such as the NBA, MLB, NFL, MLS, and Universities. Also looking to partner with business level collectors and businesses to increase consignment intake.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track and report on the performance of strategic partnerships, using data to inform future deal strategy and demonstrate return on investment.
  • Revenue Generation: Negotiate and close deals that generate significant revenue across the enterprise, including consignment fees and other partnership-related income streams.
  • Develop a team of professionals ensuring feedback, coaching and accountability. Need to hire in the future, train and manage team performance.

What you will bring:

  • Experience: 10+ years of proven experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or a related deal-making role within the sports industry. Experience within the sports collectibles, memorabilia, or auction market is a significant plus.
  • Deal-making expertise: A demonstrated track record of negotiating and closing complex, multi-year deals with major sports entities, high-profile talent agencies, or similar.
  • Industry knowledge: Deep understanding of the professional sports landscape, including leagues (e.g., MLS, PGA), teams, and player management agencies. Knowledge of the sports collectibles market is highly preferred.
  • Strategic thinking: Ability to think strategically and identify opportunities that align with Goldin's long-term business objectives.
  • Relationship-building: Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust and rapport with high-level stakeholders.
  • Communication: Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate persuasively and effectively at all levels.
  • Autonomy: A self-starter with a "hunter" mentality, capable of independently driving the deal-making process from start to finish.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sports Management, or a related field.
