Job Description
As a Pensions Systems Analyst, you’ll act as the bridge between business needs and technology — gathering, analyzing, and translating complex pension requirements into effective software solutions. You’ll work closely with clients and internal teams to configure, test, and deliver pension systems that are reliable, compliant, and tailored to each organization’s needs.
What you’ll do
- Engage with clients and stakeholders to gather, clarify, and document business and functional requirements related to pension schemes and system configuration.
- Translate client requirements into detailed system specifications and configuration tasks.
- Analyze client pension scheme data and define data cleansing, mapping, and migration rules.
- Configure and implement pension solution components using internal tools and configuration frameworks.
- Support system testing — including test case preparation, data validation, and defect resolution.
- Write and execute SQL queries to validate data, investigate issues, and support migration and reporting activities.
- Work with XML-based data structures for configuration, interface mapping, and data exchange.
- Collaborate with technical and delivery teams to ensure solutions meet functional and regulatory requirements.
- Continuously enhance your understanding of pension systems, business rules, and product capabilities to improve implementation quality and efficiency.
Qualifications
Skills & Knowledge
- Experience working as a Business Analyst, Implementation Consultant, or System Analyst, ideally within pensions, insurance, or financial services domains.
- Hands-on experience with SQL (data validation, reporting, troubleshooting).
- Working knowledge of XML for configuration, integrations, or data transformation.
- Understanding of pension scheme administration (DB/DC) and related calculations is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with data migration, ETL processes, and system integration concepts.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills — able to interpret complex data and translate it into clear, actionable requirements.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across business and technical teams.
Qualifications & Experience
- Background in Information Systems, Business Analysis, or Computer Science (or equivalent experience).
- Experience in software implementation or configuration within a financial or pensions environment.
- Exposure to Agile or iterative delivery environments is an advantage.
- Relevant pensions or actuarial certifications (e.g., PMI) are beneficial but not essential.
