Job Description

Join Thales in Carquefou, near Nantes, within the Critical Outsourcing Engineering Department. You will integrate a dynamic site focused on digital services for critical information systems. As an experienced infrastructure manager/architect, you will be responsible for analyzing client needs, designing general infrastructure architectures (networks, servers, cloud, storage, security), and ensuring compliance with technical standards and regulations. You will also contribute to technical roadmaps, risk assessment, and continuous improvement, working in a human-sized, dynamic, and motivated team.
Must have:
  • Analyze and document client needs

  • Draft general architecture (DAG) and technical engineering (DIT) documents
  • Participate in defining infrastructure roadmaps

  • Ensure compliance with defined norms and processes
  • Ensure conformity to standards and regulations (ISO 27001, RGPD, NIS2)
  • Evaluate risks and propose remediation plans (DRP/BCP, backup, monitoring)
  • Draft/contribute to tests of implemented solutions
  • Draft/contribute to administration and operation documents
  • Define technical integration procedures
  • Facilitate cross-functional workshops (SSI, Engineering, Integration, Operations, Provider, Outsourcer)
  • Present and defend technical choices
  • Perform technological watch and propose continuous improvements

The Critical Outsourcing Engineering Department is looking for an experienced infrastructure manager/architect for its Dedicated Expertise Service Center.

Your main missions will be to:

  • Analyze/capture and write client needs expressions
  • Propose, challenge solutions and requirements
  • Design general infrastructure architectures (networks, servers, cloud, storage, security)
  • Draft general architecture (DAG) and technical engineering (DIT) documents
  • Participate in defining infrastructure roadmaps
  • Develop technical policy
  • Recommend technical solutions to ensure a high level of service quality and continuity (scalability and system resilience)
  • Ensure compliance with the standards and processes defined within the technical master plan
  • Ensure conformity to standards and regulations (ISO 27001, RGPD, NIS2)
  • Be able to evaluate risks and propose remediation plans (DRP/BCP, backup, monitoring)
  • Draft non-standard requirement documents if necessary
  • Draft/contribute to testing implemented solutions
  • Draft/contribute to administration and operation documents
  • Define technical integration procedures.
  • Facilitate cross-functional workshops (SSI, Engineering, Integration, Operations, Provider, Outsourcer, etc.)
  • Be able to present and defend technical choices
  • Perform technological watch and propose continuous improvements.

Your Profile

You are a BAC+5 graduate (Engineering school or university with a specialization in IT), you have significant initial experience as an Infrastructure consultant/architect and dream of developing your skills in an exciting, constantly evolving technical environment?

You have the following skills:

  • Proficiency in operating systems (mainly UNIX/LINUX), backup and storage solutions (SAN, NAS, RAID, etc.) and associated architectures
  • Database knowledge (SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL)
  • In-depth network knowledge: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN, VLAN, VPN, Load Balancing, Firewall, etc.)
  • Significant experience with network protocols and equipment (CISCO, Juniper, Palo Alto, Fortinet, etc.)
  • Proficiency in virtualization solutions (VMWare, Hyper-V, Proxmox) and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, OVH, Cloud Temple)
  • Knowledge of containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Knowledge of infrastructure security (IAM, Encryption, MFA, ISO 27001, IGI 1300)
  • Proficiency in automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Chef), experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Jenkins) and shell scripting (Python, Bash, Powershell)
  • Good writing and synthesis skills to produce deliverables within deadlines
  • Good ability to follow several projects in parallel and work in a team
  • Comfortable with PowerPoint and Microsoft Visio for presentations and able to popularize technical architectures
  • Ability to follow technological evolutions and propose innovations
  • Adaptation to new business and regulatory requirements

As the position may require access to information relating to national defense secrecy, the selected person will be subject to an authorization procedure, in accordance with the provisions of articles R.2311-1 et seq. of the Defense Code and IGI 1300 SGDSN/PSE of August 9, 2021.
