Technical Lead / Lead Developer - M/F

WHO ARE WE?

The Terrestrial and Air Systems activity designs systems, equipment, sensors and services for civil and military air traffic control, air defense as well as naval and terrestrial combat.

Aeromapper, located in Massy, is a dynamic and innovative Group startup, focused on drone activity, where about fifteen employees develop, produce and market drones for both defense (surveillance and reconnaissance) and civilian (mapping, infrastructure monitoring) uses.

We are looking for a Technical Lead to lead the software R&D team, currently composed of 5 people. You will be responsible for piloting and planning development, designing and architecting embedded flight software for our drones. The scope covers the autopilot (flight management, operational safety, actuator management, radio systems, energy management, ground/board communications), as well as the command and control interface (ground station).

Your main responsibilities will be:

• Leading the software development R&D team: planning developments, ensuring the adequacy of the workload with project milestones, technical mentoring of developers, managing and motivating the software team (5 people, growing) to stimulate innovation and creativity within projects.
• Participating in developments: designing the software architecture, contributing to software development activities and participating in code reviews and tests, adopting a 'hands-on' role when necessary.
• Structuring R&D: strengthening and formalizing development processes (software specification – SRS), integration, verification and validation (test plan and sheets – STD, unit tests, non-regression tests, functional verification, evolution management, etc.) within the team to improve software quality and operational efficiency.
• Quality assurance: implementing quality standards and practices to guarantee robust and reliable software.
• Reporting: Regularly communicate with management, providing detailed metrics and updates on project progress and team performance.

Your profile

You are a graduate of an engineering school (Electronics, Aeronautics / Space, Computer Science, etc.) or a university course with a Master 2 (BAC +5). More than 4 years of experience, ideally with a first experience as a Lead developer and solid experience in software development processes (unit tests, CI/CD documentation, etc.).

You master C and C++ languages, with good knowledge of the Linux operating system.

You have good knowledge of embedded and real-time software aspects, and graphical interfaces.

Your rigor and sense of organization ensure the efficiency of several simultaneous projects, even within tight deadlines. Your autonomy and proactive spirit will allow you to exceed expectations and drive our initiatives to success.
