The Installation Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the execution and delivery of installation activities for the project, including infrastructure installation, cabling works, and equipment installation. This role ensures all work is completed safely, to the required quality standards, and within specified timeframes. Working under general supervision, the incumbent will exercise substantial discretionary decision-making and provide leadership to subcontractors and internal installation teams.
Must Have
- Coordinate and oversee installation activities.
- Manage installation program schedule.
- Ensure compliance with Australian Standards.
- Administer and track material and equipment delivery.
- Verify correct equipment installation.
- Report WHSE incidents and manage risks.
- 6+ years in supervisory or technical installation.
- Knowledge of AFC equipment installation processes.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings (CSD, layout).
- Strong computer hardware and software competency.
- Proven stakeholder relationship building.
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Successful National Police Check.

Job Summary
The Installation Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the execution and delivery of installation activities for the project, including infrastructure installation, cabling works, and equipment installation. This role ensures all work is completed safely, to the required quality standards, and within specified timeframes. Working under general supervision, the incumbent will exercise substantial discretionary decision-making and provide leadership to subcontractors and internal installation teams.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Installation Coordination & Delivery
- Coordinate installation subcontractors and employees performing site surveys, modifications, and installation works.
- Administer and track the delivery of materials and equipment to site.
- Manage the installation program schedule and provide input for overall project scheduling.
- Review and mark up Combined Services Drawings (CSD) and layout drawings to ensure correctness.
- Represent the company at stakeholder meetings relating to installation activities.
- Detail, verify, and sign off that all equipment has been installed correctly and in line with specifications.
- Conduct site walks with SWC or civil contractors.
- Deputise for the APAC regional Installation Manager as required.
Reporting & Documentation
- Compile and document weekly progress updates for all active sites.
- Produce Site Visit Reports following inspections, as required.
- Ensure all WHSE incidents, hazards, and items beyond authority are reported promptly.
Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Maintain compliance with Australian Standards for all onsite work.
- Manage onsite installation risks and issues.
- Ensure investigations are conducted for all accidents and near-misses, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Inform WHSE of accidents and escalate issues where required.
- Continually seek opportunities to improve installation processes and work methods.
General Duties and Responsibilities
- Comply with Cubic’s Quality Management System.
- Adhere to Cubic Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment policies and procedures.
- Comply with all established security policies and procedures.
- Follow Cubic Human Resources procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in Electronics, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
Skills, Experience & Knowledge
Essential:
- Minimum 6 years’ experience in a similar supervisory or technical installation role.
- Demonstrated practical experience in installation work activities.
- Knowledge of AFC equipment installation processes.
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply installation drawings, CSD drawings, layout drawings, and engineering documentation.
- Strong computer hardware and software competency.
- Proven ability to build effective stakeholder relationships.
- Capable of working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
- Willingness to work varied hours or be on-call when required.
- Mechanical aptitude and strong problem-solving abilities.
