Role Mission

Ensure robust integrations between Coupa and ERP - DataSul, enabling end-to-end automation of purchasing, receiving, and invoicing, with consistent data, adequate response times, and high observability.

Requirements

  • Full degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related fields.

Post-graduation/Specialization/MBA in Software Architecture, Integration, Data Engineering or related fields will be considered a differential.

  • Solid experience in integration projects (preferably with Coupa (BSM/Procurement)), including synchronous (APIs/punchout) and asynchronous (cXML/files/events) scenarios, in on-premises and/or cloud environments.
  • Mastery of Coupa Integrations: REST APIs (incl. OAuth 2.0 authentication or API Keys), cXML (PO, invoice, ASN), Punchout (cXML/OCI), catalogs (CIF/hosted) and SFTP integrations.
  • P2P processes and operational finance: requisitions, POs, receipts, 2/3-way match, invoices/credit notes, taxes, retentions, exceptions and tolerances.
  • Service and event-oriented architecture; messaging/streaming (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ) when applicable to the ecosystem.
  • API design and governance (REST), documentation (OpenAPI), resilience patterns (idempotence, retry/backoff, circuit breaker) and contract versioning.
  • Protocols and formats: HTTP, SFTP; JSON, cXML, CSV/CIF.
  • Security: OAuth 2.0/OIDC, SAML 2.0 (SSO), JWT, mTLS.
  • Observability: metrics, logs and tracing (e.g., Prometheus/Grafana, ELK/EFK, OpenTelemetry).
  • API/cXML testing tools (e.g., Postman/Insomnia, cXML validators) and mock/stub strategies.
  • Git and CI/CD; containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) applied to integrations.
  • Experience with at least one ESB/iPaaS/integration platform with Coupa connectors or HTTP/cXML/SFTP capability (e.g., MuleSoft, Boomi, WSO2, Azure Integration Services/Logic Apps, Apigee/Kong as a gateway).
  • Experience with agile methods (Scrum/Kanban) and collaboration with Purchasing/Finance/Tax/IT stakeholders.
  • Advanced or fluent English required (reading, writing and conversation) for interaction with global teams, suppliers and technical documentation.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, systemic vision and consultative posture skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Architecture and integration design

  • Conduct technical/functional discovery; map data domains (suppliers, cost centers, accounting accounts, items, contracts, users, units/addresses) and transactional flows (requisitions, POs, receipts, invoices, credit notes, payments).
  • Define integration styles (REST APIs, cXML, file/SFTP integrations, event/streaming when applicable), considering functional and non-functional requirements (latency, throughput, availability, consistency, costs).
  • Elaborate technical documentation (OpenAPI API specifications, Coupa endpoint catalogs, data models, cXML contracts, mappings, architecture diagrams and BPMN for P2P processes).

Specific Coupa Integrations:

  • Design native integrations with Coupa: REST APIs, as well as file integrations (CSV/flat files via SFTP) when applicable.
  • Orchestrate master data synchronization between Coupa and legacy systems/financial ERP: suppliers (incl. banking/tax), GL/accounts, cost centers, projects, items, rates, users/roles, approval structures and locations.
  • Design end-to-end transactional flows: Requisition → Approval → PO → ASN/Receipt → Invoice → 2/3-way match → Payment → Status/reconciliation; ensure reconciliation with financial/tax back-office.

Standards, resilience and quality:

  • Apply EIPs (Enterprise Integration Patterns), choreography/or orchestration, idempotence, deduplication, retries with backoff, timeouts and circuit breakers.
  • Define contract versioning (APIs/cXML/files) and ensure backward compatibility; standardize validations and enrichments.
  • Promote integration testing, contract testing (e.g., Pact), punchout simulations and cXML validations; maintain representative test environments/data.

Security and compliance:

  • Define end-to-end security: OAuth 2.0 / API Keys from Coupa (per tenant), mTLS when applicable, secret management, SSO (SAML 2.0/OIDC) and role segregation.
  • Ensure compliance (LGPD) regarding personal/supplier data, data classification/masking, retention and access policies.
  • Address audit/SOX requirements: trails, segregation of duties, immutability and control evidence.

Observability and operation:

  • Instrument metrics, logs and distributed tracing (e.g., OpenTelemetry) in integrations; define business KPIs (req→PO→invoice cycle time, punchout/cXML success rate, exceptions per thousand documents).

Data and governance:

  • Support MDM and data quality: supplier deduplication, tax/banking validation, catalog and contract governance.
  • Define format standards (JSON, cXML, CSV/CIF), mappings and transformations; select ETL/ELT vs. near real-time/CDC when pertinent.

Delivery and technical leadership:

  • Guide squads in the complete cycle (discovery → design → implementation → testing → deploy → operation).
  • Collaborate with PM/PO and business areas on prioritization, acceptance criteria and risk management; decompose epics and integration roadmaps.
  • Promote CI/CD for integrations, test automation and predictable releases; guide use of API gateways and service/event catalog.
