Technicon Design is looking for a skilled Digital Sculptor to join their team in southeast Michigan. The role involves collaborating closely with automotive designers to create 3D surfaces for vehicle interiors using Alias NURBS and SubD modeling. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Transportation design and at least 2 years of experience as a digital designer in the automotive sector. The position requires the ability to translate 2D sketches into 3D digital surfaces using Autodesk Alias, showcasing strong aesthetic and design sensibility. A creative background with a focus on digital applications, keen attention to detail, and the capacity to perform under pressure to meet deadlines are essential.
Must have:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Transportation design
- 2+ years' digital design experience in automotive industry
- Develop 2D sketches to 3D digital surfaces in Autodesk Alias
- Aesthetic and design sensibility
- Attention to detail
- Ability to thrive under pressure and meet deadlines
Good to have:
- Polygon modeling ability
