Job Description

Mysteria Studio is seeking a Game Designer intern to design gameplay for their PC Action RPG project. Responsibilities include improving the game design document, tweaking item and enemy stats, implementing and playtesting quests and combat encounters, and making improvements based on feedback. The role requires a strong understanding of game design principles, self-organization, experience with Unreal Engine and Blueprints, excellent communication skills, and comfort working remotely. This is a mandatory unpaid internship (Pflichtpraktikum) open to students from Germany, EU countries, Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein, and Switzerland.
Good To Have:
  • Familiarity with Gothic I, II, or similar Action RPGs
Must Have:
  • Game design principles

  • Self-organized work
  • Unreal Engine and Blueprints experience

Intern Game Designer Job Listing

Mysteria Studio is seeking a Game Designer for an intern position to play a key role in designing the gameplay of our PC Action RPG project.
You’ll design gameplay elements from spreadsheets to their initial implementation in Unreal Engine 5,
for which your game design and technical skills are of great importance.

We offer a fully remote work arrangement with flexible working hours.

Responsibilities:

  • Make improvements and additions to our game design document.
  • Tweak item and enemy stats in spreadsheets and in-engine.
  • Collaborate with our lead programmer to implement and playtest quest & combat encounters.
  • Improve them based on feedback provided by our leadership team.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of game design principles, including gameplay mechanics & systems;
  • Ability to work in a self-organized manner within a team, while being respectful and an attentive listener;
  • Experience with Unreal Engine and Blueprints;
  • Comfortable with working in a 100% remote working team;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • This internship position is available for students from Germany, anywhere in the EU, Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein and Switzerland;
  • Plus: Familiar with the game design of Gothic I, II, or similar Action RPGs.
