Thales is a global leader in high technologies specializing in three sectors: Defense & Security, Aeronautics & Space, and Cyber & Digital. It develops products and solutions that contribute to a safer, more environmentally friendly, and more inclusive world. The Group invests nearly 4 billion euros per year in Research & Development, particularly in key innovation areas such as AI, cybersecurity, quantum, cloud technologies, and 6G. Thales has nearly 81,000 employees in 68 countries.
The Gennevilliers Campus is the heart of design, development, and support activities for major defense systems: radiocommunications, resilient network and infrastructure systems, satellite communications, collaborative combat, and cybersecurity. Located north of Paris, it is easily accessible by public transport.
Within the IRS Competence Center, you will join the PLN Service (Data Links and Radio-Navigation Products) responsible for the development of data transmission links, aircraft landing and navigation aid products such as radio altimeters and MMR (landing aid). All these products are embedded on platforms aboard military and civil aircraft (Fighters, transport aircraft, helicopters, drones, missiles).
The service is involved throughout the product life cycle from upstream phases (Offers, product policy) to development, qualification, and industrialization phases. It also participates in commissioning and platform testing with clients.
You will evolve in the exciting field of aeronautics within a highly technically skilled team (electronics, IT, radio, etc.).
This internship aims to design a simulation tool capable of emulating functional exchanges between the different components of an aeronautical connectivity system. This simulator will not only reproduce temporal dynamics: execution times of actions, response latency, etc., but also automatically generate sequence diagrams using PlantUML, thus offering a clear and exploitable visualization of the tested scenarios.
Specifically, your missions will consist of:
Are you in your final year of engineering school or equivalent training, with a general background in electronics, IT, signal processing, or aeronautics, and are you looking for a 6-month internship?
Do you master programming tools and are capable of developing simulation solutions?
Are you comfortable with analysis and understanding of functional exchanges?
Do you show an interest in radiocommunication and connectivity technologies?
Autonomous, curious, persevering, and rigorous, are you recognized for your ability to carry out your missions effectively?
By working in a collaborative and highly technical environment, you will develop a modular solution, easily reusable by your colleagues, while deepening your skills in Python programming, distributed system modeling, and documentation automation.
Join us to transform complex concepts into concrete tools, and let your creativity shape the future of air connectivity.
All our internships are conventioned and subject to a gratification whose amount is determined according to your level of study.
Thales, a Handi-Engaged company, recognizes all talents. Diversity is our best asset. Apply and join us!
