Job Description

Joining the Toulouse site, you will integrate the Flight Dynamics team, working on an initiative to propose innovative solutions in Space Surveillance. Your mission involves analyzing the problem, taking over the PATRIUS flight dynamics library (Java) from CNES, creating AI algorithms to identify and characterize spatial maneuvers, and validating them. You will write technical notes, propose new use-cases, and finalize an internship report. This role requires autonomy, initiative, and problem-solving skills in complex technical areas, strengthening your expertise in space surveillance and software development.
Must Have:
  • Analyze the problem of characterizing spatial maneuvers.
  • Take over the PATRIUS flight dynamics library (Java) from CNES.
  • Create artificial intelligence algorithms to identify and characterize maneuvers.
  • Validate the developed algorithms.
  • Write technical notes and propose new use-cases.
  • Finalize an internship report.
  • Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages (Java and Python).
  • Strong background in applied mathematics and algorithms.
  • Experience in implementing AI algorithms for algorithmic problem solving.
  • Basic knowledge of space flight mechanics and orbital maneuvers.

Your daily life

By joining the Toulouse site, you will integrate a site bringing together our sovereign cyber defense solutions to face growing cyber threats and our digital services activities enabling us to operate our clients' critical information systems and support them in their secure digital transformation.

You will join the Flight Dynamics team, composed of about twenty engineers, under the direct supervision of an experienced member. As part of a Thales initiative to propose innovative solutions in Space Surveillance, you will work on the characterization of spatial maneuvers. Your mission includes analyzing the problem, taking over the PATRIUS (Java) flight dynamics library from CNES, creating artificial intelligence algorithms to identify and characterize maneuvers, as well as their validation. You will write technical notes, propose new use-cases, and finalize an internship report. The position requires autonomy, initiative, and the ability to solve complex technical problems. Joining this team will allow you to strengthen your skills in space surveillance and software development, essential and rapidly evolving fields in the current space industry.

Your profile

Is your priority to complete a 5 to 6-month internship?

Do you have the ambition to perfect your knowledge in AI algorithms?

You are preparing an Engineering degree or equivalent (Bac +5) and you have experience in:

  • object-oriented programming languages (Java and Python),
  • applied mathematics and algorithms,
  • the implementation of AI algorithms for solving algorithmic problems,

You have basics in space flight mechanics and orbital maneuvers.
