Job Description

Egnyte is seeking a motivated Intern Cloud Security Engineer to join their Cloud Security team. The intern will learn and grow alongside experienced colleagues, contributing to the security posture of Egnyte's cloud services. Responsibilities include identifying and remediating security risks, utilizing cloud security tools, contributing to Infrastructure, Configuration, and Policy as Code, and working with DevOps teams to implement security checks in the SDLC. The role requires a solid foundation in Computer Science, familiarity with application security frameworks, scripting skills, and good English communication.

Our Cloud Security team enables Egnyte's future by fostering a secure cloud environment through proactive threat detection, vulnerability management, and the implementation of robust security controls. 

We are looking for a motivated individual to join us as an Intern Cloud Security Engineer. In this role, you’ll get the chance to learn and grow alongside experienced colleagues, contributing to the security posture of our cloud services. If you’re interested in the technical aspects of Security Engineering and are looking for an opportunity to develop your skills within a dynamic team that directly impacts Egnyte’s security, then this is the place for you. 

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO: 
  • Learn by immersion alongside experienced Team Members
  • Identify and remediate security risks to improve Egnyte’s Cloud Security Posture 
  • Utilize state-of-the-art cloud security tools to contribute to our understanding of cloud security principles
  • Contribute to our Infrastructure, Configuration, and Policy as a Code codebase 
  • Work closely with the DevOps Teams to implement and maintain necessary security checks throughout the SDLC

 

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Willingness and aptitude to quickly learn new technologies and processes
  • Solid foundation in Computer Science (Operating Systems, Networking, Programming)
  • Familiarity with application security frameworks, such as OWASP Top 10, SANS Top 25 etc.
  • Ability to read and write simple scripts in Python, Bash, or other scripting languages
  • Ability to diligently follow predefined security audit checklists
  • Interest in advancing professional social skills to effectively communicate with technical partners such as DevOps and software engineers
  • Good English skills (B1/B2) to effectively communicate about technical matters
  • Active University student status is preferred
