The Gennevilliers Campus is the heart of design, development, and support activities for major defense systems: radio communications, resilient infrastructure networks and systems, satellite communications, collaborative combat, and cybersecurity. Located north of Paris, it is quickly accessible by public transport.

Thales delivers satellite communication systems meeting resilience and security requirements, while guaranteeing end-to-end services. To fully meet these requirements, Thales offers planning solutions adapted to each context.

Within the RIS (Strategic Infrastructure Network) Engineering Competence Center, our Mobile Network Management service develops software solutions whose purpose is to enable the operational deployment of Tactical and Satcom networks in military theaters of operation. Our software suite consists of several functional components, from upstream satellite resource planning to local management of communication stations (equipment configuration and supervision).

The purpose of the internship is to explore and propose alternatives to the current solution allowing the renovation of existing software. This software has two main components:

• Temporal data storage (DB) collected from network equipment (switch, firewall, etc.)
• Data visualization via graphical views and data extractions for analysis and reporting.

The objective being to manage the project globally, your main missions will be:

• Requirements gathering
• Study of available COTS/OSS on the market (Influx, TimescaleDB, Prometeus, Grafana, Chronograf, D3js, …)
• Architecture proposal
• Backlog management, User Story writing, and planning
• Development and integration of COTS
• Integration into the CI/CD platform
• Reporting to the project manager and service manager

Your profile

Are you currently in an engineering school or equivalent training and looking for a final year internship (BAC+5)?

Are you comfortable with technical English?

Are you proficient in Python/numpy?

Do you have notions of databases, Roboframework, Jenkins, Ansible?

Do you have strong analytical and synthesis skills?

Are you recognized for your curiosity and openness to innovation?

Are you autonomous and have a strong sense of initiative and proactivity?

Do you have good interpersonal skills and an ability to work in an integrated multidisciplinary team?
