Our teams specialize in aeronautical and naval radionavigation, radiocommunication, and satellite communication systems and equipment. At the heart of Corrèze, the site's activity, primarily industrial, covers the entire product life cycle, from the design phase to customer support.
During this internship, you will study and characterize the isolation distances between two electrical potentials within the power converters used in Thales electronic boards, intended for harsh environments. You will begin by conducting thorough bibliographic research, identifying critical parameters, applicable standards, and relevant scientific references. Next, you will establish a dielectric strength characterization protocol for various components such as capacitors, GaN/SiC transistors, and printed circuit boards, according to different types of assemblies. You will perform laboratory tests, exposing representative mock-ups to variable conditions of temperature, pressure, and humidity, which will allow you to observe the effects of aging and identify worst-case scenarios under degraded conditions. Finally, you will write a comprehensive report presenting the results of your work and the lessons learned, to contribute to the optimization of future systems.
