Thales is developing electronic warfare systems and offers an innovative project on an IT support tool. The internship involves understanding the current tool (VBA, macros, manual actions), proposing a scripted Python approach managed under GIT for automated configuration file generation for over 150 physical and virtual machines, using YAML for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) deployment and reports. Thales develops electronic warfare systems and offers an innovative project on an IT support tool. Administrators must automatically build configuration files to deploy more than 150 physical and virtual machines.

The context:

• Understand the current tool based on VBA, macros, and manual actions,
• Propose a scripted approach in Python managed under GIT, through function factorization and automation of manual tasks,
• Use the YAML format (inventory files, Ansible group and host variables) for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) deployment and reports (xls),
• Propose the transition method and implement the transformation of the schema to the new one.

Your missions:

• Design and develop a Python tool according to specifications,
• Collaborate with administrators to integrate the tool into automation processes,
• Implement unit and functional tests ensuring quality,
• Deploy the tool,
• Participate in follow-up meetings and communicate regularly on progress.

Your profile:

Are you in an Engineering school or equivalent training, and looking for a 6-month internship in software development?

Do you have skills in Python, VBA, and GIT development? Ansible knowledge would be a plus.

Do you have a good level of English, both written and spoken?
