Job Description

The Inventory Coordinator is responsible for assisting plants and purchasing in monitoring, managing, and maintaining the overall VMI inventory level. Key duties include working closely with buyers and plants on VMI programs, utilizing the system to run inventory reports and answer questions, managing vendor communications and needs, investigating inventory discrepancies and communicating issues, handling vendor issues tactfully, maintaining vendor price maintenance tables, updating VMI and cash contract records, preparing reports, processing import payables, and sharing receptionist duties. The role also involves performing other assigned duties and special projects.
Must have:
  • Minimum one year of experience in inventory control
  • Working knowledge of inventory internal controls
  • Proficiency in computer and business software (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Basic knowledge of lumber math, grades, and species
Good to have:

Job Summary

The Inventory Coordinator is responsible for assisting the plants and purchasing in monitoring, managing, and maintaining the overall VMI inventory level.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the buyers and plants to monitor and maintain all plant VMI programs.

  • Know our system inside and out so you can run any inventory and receive reports available and answer inventory questions that come up.

  • Handle most communication with specific vendor contacts and facilitate their needs.

  • Investigate any inventory discrepancies and communicate the issue with plants and vendors.

  • Handle vendor issues tactfully

  • Maintain vendor price maintenance tables

  • Update and maintain VMI and cash contract records

  • Prepare various reports and correspondence as required

  • Process Import payables

  • Share backup receptionist duties

  • Perform other duties as directed

  • Assists in assigned special projects

  • Performs other duties as required


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent degree

  • Minimum one year of experience in inventory control or related area

  • Working knowledge of inventory internal controls, and company procedures

  • Working knowledge in the use of computer and business-related software, including Microsoft applications Excel, Word, and Outlook

  • Basic knowledge of lumber math, lumber grades, and species

  • Preferred understanding of company policies, practices, and procedures

Compensation & Benefit Information:

Hourly Pay Range: $23.00-$27.00 *dependent on experience/shift/cost of living adjustments*
