Job Description

The Investment Banking Sales Specialist will execute LSEG’s strategy for long-term growth in the UK by understanding market dynamics and driving sales. This role requires strong direction-setting and influencing skills to collaborate with Account Management teams. As a subject matter expert, the specialist will support New Business and Account Managers, focusing on all sales for LSEG’s Investment Banking proposition in the UKI territory, leading deals, and partnering with internal stakeholders to drive gross sales and revenue.
Must have:
  • Execute strategy for LSEG’s footprint growth in the UK
  • Drive sales execution with local Account Management teams
  • Act as a Sales Specialist for LSEG’s Investment Banking proposition
  • Lead deals aligned to Investment Banking proposition
  • Provide in-depth customer and market insights
  • Uncover new business opportunities and drive sales process
  • Collaborate across matrixed functions (Product, Marketing, Sales Strategy & Execution, Account Management)
  • Deliver customer demonstrations on LSEG's Investment Banking offering
  • Drive thought leadership agenda
  • Work to tight deadlines in a high performance environment
  • Good understanding of Financial Markets, specifically Investment Banking, Private Equity and Venture Capital industries
  • Experience in selling into the UKI territory
  • World class selling skills (identify, develop, & articulate proposition/ consultative selling) as a “hunter”
  • Strong sales ‘closer’
  • Significant Product and Workflow Expertise (e.g. knowledge of financial modelling, Excel, MS Office)
  • Creative thinker and good sales ideation skills
  • Presentation skills (verbal & written)
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to coordinate and execute a sales plan
  • Executive presence
  • Proven track record in a quota bearing sales environment

Job Details

The Investment Banking Sales Specialist will be tasked with executing our strategy for long term balanced growth of LSEG’s footprint in the United Kingdom through their understanding of market and competitive dynamics and driving Sales execution.

The role will require the successful candidate's strong direction setting and influencing skills to work with the local Account Management teams to deliver results.

As a subject matter expert, you will act in support of New Business and Account Managers as a Sales Specialist focusing on all sales (new, cross-sells, up-sells) for LSEG’s Investment Banking proposition in the UKI territory with both existing and new customers. You will lead on deals aligned to the Investment Banking proposition and serve accounts within a pre-determined territory. The role works in close partnership with internal stakeholders to proactively drive gross sales and revenue.

Role Responsibilities

  • Provide in-depth customer and market insights and identify needs and problems, to uncover new business opportunities and drive the sales process
  • Execute through strong collaborative relationships across matrixed functions, including Product, Marketing, Sales Strategy & Execution, Account Management and external partners
  • Provide input to the creation and development of comprehensive business cases based on growth opportunities and ensuring alignment with LSEG`s overall strategic direction.
  • Supervise all aspects of key competitors, analyzing their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats and develop strategies to achieve driven advantage
  • Deliver customer demonstrations on LSEG's Investment Banking offering
  • Drive thought leadership agenda as the internal and external spokesperson for your proposition, supporting community building
  • Strong business acuity and commercial strategy skills
  • Able to influence individuals as well as groups in meetings
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines in a high performance environment

Your skillset and knowledge:
