Job Description

As a Lead Software Engineer at LSEG, you will be a subject matter expert, advising on design, development, and implementation of software solutions. You will produce clean, efficient code, oversee design work, and plan user journeys to achieve objectives. The role involves supporting solution creation for Epics, adapting existing patterns for robust solutions, and building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, contributing to LSEG's commercial direction.
Must have:

ROLE SUMMARY:

As the Lead Software Engineer you will need to demonstrate significant knowledge of a single or multiple technologies and advises on design, development and implementation. You will require a depth of knowledge and expertise in software development and are regarded as the SME in your domain.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

  • Advances and applications by producing clean and efficient code and reviews others' code when required
  • Handle own workload and promotes an inclusive and open culture
  • Develops knowledge of other domains to understand linkages and dependencies
  • Understands the tech strategy and culture, and how they impact own work as well as adjacent teams
  • Oversees the design work and planning for user journeys ensuring the achieve the desired objectives
  • Supports the creation of solutions for Epics and the associated implementation tasks
  • Adapts existing patterns to develop robust solutions
  • Develop understanding of LSEG's commercial direction and how technology is forming a part of this
  • Complete the delivery of given tasks with some guidance and oversight
  • Build strong relationships with senior internal stakeholders, growing network and collaborating with own team and colleagues in other domains. Communicate complex information clearly to relevant audiences
  • Take initiative to develop knowledge in technology products and tools through on the job learning, certifications and projects.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • Professional qualification or equivalent
  • Significant knowledge of at least one programming language
  • Moderate experience in a Software development and delivery role
  • Moderate experience of multiple development technologies and knowledge of when patterns are appropriate and solutions are anti-patterns
  • Some experience of Business and Technical Analysis, Quality Assurance, delivery management, and / or Emerging Technology and Governance
  • Some stakeholder management experience.

Compensation/Benefits Information:

LSEG is committed to offering competitive Compensation and Benefits. The anticipated base salary for this position is $125,900 - $209,900.

Please be aware base salary ranges may vary by geographic location, city and state. In addition to our offered base salary, this role is eligible for our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP/”bonus plan”). Target AIP rates will be commensurate with role level and posted career stage. Individual salary will be reflective of job related knowledge, skills and equivalent experience. LSEG roles (excluding internships and part-time roles of less than 20 hours per week) are typically eligible for inclusion in our LSEG Benefits program, which includes offerings of: Annual Wellness Allowance, Paid time-off, Medical, Dental, Vision, Flex Spending & Health Savings Options, Prescription Drug plan, 401(K) Savings Plan and Company match. LSEG’s Benefits plan also includes basic life insurance, disability benefits, emergency backup dependent care, adoption assistance commuter assistance etc.
