Job Summary
The IT Business Relationship Manager (BRM) serves as the primary liaison between IT and specific sites/functions, partnering with key business stakeholders to deliver IT services and solutions. This role involves developing strong relationships, driving innovation, and ensuring IT value aligns with overall business strategy and requirements. The BRM is responsible for actively managing IT costs, including budget and rolling forecasts, to ensure efficient IT delivery. They proactively develop long-range IT strategies and roadmaps, advise on maximizing IT investments, and identify opportunities for operational efficiency and value creation. The role also ensures global IT standards are implemented and collaborates with IT service areas for project delivery.
Must Have
- Serve as the single point of contact for site/function leaders regarding IT topics.
- Accountable for IT budget and cost effectiveness for respective area of responsibility.
- Participate in business staff meetings to establish close relationship and gain understanding of business demand & strategies.
- Proactively develop long-range IT strategy/roadmap aligned with business strategy.
- Advise business on how to maximize IT investments and identify opportunities to leverage IT for tangible business value.
- Identify opportunities for business operational efficiency and drive specific metrics for cost saving and value creation.
- Remain abreast of industry trends in business and technology.
- Assure global IT standards, policies and strategies are implemented.
- Work closely with the IT Service Delivery Manager on ensuring effective and efficient IT operations.
- Accountable for project delivery of operational improvements and related technology solutions.
- Collaborate with other BRMs on sharing best practices and developing regional IT strategy.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems or related technical degree.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including delivery of training and presentations.
- Good understanding of Manufacturing business processes.
- Subject matter expertise in both business areas and IT technologies.
- Strong customer management skills and ability to understand, translate and define complex business requirements.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, work harmoniously and effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to work directly with middle to senior management as well as employees at all levels.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects, work under tight deadlines, and handle changing priorities.
Good to Have
- Advanced degree in computer science, Information Systems or related technical degree.
- Experience in multinational / multicultural companies.
- Ideally experience in the Automotive Industry.

JOB PURPOSE
The IT Business Relationship Manager (BRM) is the key “liaison” between IT and the site / function. As business increasingly relies on technology, the IT BRM will be responsible for partnering with key business stakeholders in delivering IT services and solutions. The role will be responsible for developing relationships and actively engaging with the business in driving innovation and delivering IT value that is aligned with business strategy & requirements. This individual will also actively manage IT costs including budget and rolling FCST to ensure efficient IT delivery.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Single point of contact for site / function leaders regarding IT topics, to include communicating with business stakeholders on all IT aspects utilizing relevant IT KPIs & Scorecards
- Accountable for IT budget and cost effectiveness for respective area of responsibility
- Participates in business staff meetings to establish close relationship with business leadership team and gain understanding of business demand & strategies
- Based on business requirements proactively develop long-range IT strategy/roadmap to enable & support the business strategy (demand shaping)
- Advise business on how to maximize IT investments (develop business case) and identify opportunities to leverage IT to provide tangible business value (lead POCs / Projects)
- Together with key users identify opportunities for business operational efficiency and drive to specific metrics for business cost saving and value creation
- Remains abreast of industry trends in business and technology, using knowledge to drive innovation
- Assure global IT standards, policies and strategies are implemented with guide of IT leadership team
- Works closely with the IT Service Delivery Manager on ensuring effective and efficient IT operations according to Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Accountable for project delivery of operational improvements and related technology solutions through partnership with IT service areas (Infrastructure, Security, Applications, Data Analytics etc.) and local external vendors.
- Collaborates with other BRMs on sharing best practices and helping to develop and implement a regional IT strategy that is aligned with business priorities.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems or related technical degree; advanced degree is a plus
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including delivery of training and presentations, ideally experience in multinational / multicultural companies
- Good understanding of Manufacturing business processes, ideally Automotive Industry
- Subject matter expertise in both business areas and IT technologies used in the business (applications, analytics etc.)
