IT Systems Administrator

Onward Search is a specialized staffing and talent solutions company that helps professionals find top jobs with the nation’s leading brands. We’re looking to hire an IT Systems Admin (Mac) for a leading national healthcare and research organization. This is a 12-month contract opportunity, mostly remote, with occasional onsite presence required in Jacksonville, FL. This full-time role (40 hours/week) is scheduled to begin on August 25, 2025, and continue through August 3, 2026.

You’ll join a small but essential Mac support team to maintain and enhance macOS environments, with a focus on device management, scripting, and system stability.

IT Systems Admin Responsibilities:

• Monitor and respond to macOS hardware/software issues using diagnostic tools.

• Troubleshoot and support Mac hardware (desktops, laptops, etc.).

• Administer user accounts, file permissions, and system preferences.

• Maintain macOS privacy & security policies and device profiles.

• Write and maintain shell scripts for automation tasks.

• Configure and support MDM (Jamf Pro) solutions.

• Interface with vendor support teams during escalations.

• Assist with documentation of systems requirements and processes.

• Collaborate with technical teams across multiple locations.

• Ensure reliable operation of Apple environments and systems.

IT Systems Admin Qualifications:

• Basic to intermediate macOS system administration skills.

• Experience using Terminal, shell scripting, and understanding plists.

• Strong experience with Microsoft 365 and Entra (Azure AD).

• Hands-on knowledge of MDM platforms, especially Jamf Pro.

• Familiarity with device management profiles and configuration.

• Bachelor's in IT or related field (or equivalent experience).

• Associate degree + 3 years technical experience.

• OR High School diploma + 5 years of enterprise IT experience.

• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
