Data Scientist Level 3

Onward Search is seeking a Data Scientist Level 3 for a fully remote, 3-month contract opportunity. This role involves joining the AI & Data Science team to support cutting-edge initiatives in generative AI, NLP, and machine learning. The ideal candidate is an experienced professional capable of managing end-to-end AI/ML lifecycle projects—from design through deployment—within a collaborative and growth-focused environment.

Must Have

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including content acceleration and agile teams.
• Plan, execute, and report on generative AI and data science projects.
• Independently perform research, analysis, and modeling.
• Apply AI/ML, NLP, and generative AI techniques to production-level systems.
• Present findings and insights clearly to stakeholders.
• Strong experience in AI, ML, NLP, and generative AI systems.
• End-to-end experience in AI/ML model development lifecycle (design to deployment).
• Proficiency in Python and data science Python packages.
• Experience with LLMs and orchestration frameworks like LangChain or LlamaIndex.

Good to Have

• Hands-on experience with AWS or Azure.
• PhD preferred; Master’s degree in AI, Data Science, or Statistics considered.
• Experience with K–12 educational ecosystem.
• Familiarity with LangSmith.
• Production-level experience in generative AI projects.

Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

• Strong experience in AI, ML, NLP, and generative AI systems.
• End-to-end experience in AI/ML model development lifecycle (design to deployment).
• Proficiency in Python and data science Python packages.
• Experience with LLMs and orchestration frameworks like LangChain or LlamaIndex.
• Hands-on experience with AWS or Azure (preferred).
• Excellent collaboration, planning, and communication skills.
• PhD preferred; Master’s degree in AI, Data Science, or Statistics considered.
• 1–2+ years of post-graduate professional experience in data science roles.
• Experience with K–12 educational ecosystem (preferred).
• Familiarity with LangSmith (preferred).
• Production-level experience in generative AI projects (preferred).
